With the potential of rain over Saturday, Sunday and Monday, cumulative totals over 50mm (according to the models) in the South East and the possibility of more in the Upper South East. CFS would like to remind you that the fire danger season still continues until the 30th of April.
Given the rain forecast for this weekend CFS encourages everyone in the South East to visit the SA State Emergency Services website https://www.ses.sa.gov.au/home/ to get hints and tips on what to do in preparation for the rain and potential storm. CFS also encourages everyone to stay up to date with the latest weather warnings on www.bom.gov.au and make sure you have downloaded the Alert SA app from your app store.

This weekend, CFS Region 5 is hosting a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) training course. On Sunday, you’ll see increased activity around 42 Smith Street, where the training will be held.

Region 5 Headquarters is located nearby at 46 Smith Street, so activity will be noticeable across the area.

As part of the training, we use party smoke to simulate realistic conditions for our firefighters. This means smoke may be visible around Smith Street and Magarey Crescent.

If you notice smoke in this area on Sunday, it’s likely our training. Please take a moment to check before calling 000.

Signage will be in place, and crews will be on site throughout the day.
