Crinum Spa Retreat will be closed for a few days while I head off on a cruise today to celebrate turning 40 🚢🥂

After 22 years of massages, knots, and making sure everyone else relaxes… it’s officially my turn to sit still for a minute. Preferably near a buffet.

I’ll be out of office until Sunday, but feel free to send messages or book appointments in the meantime. I’ll reply to everything when I’m back on dry land.

Thanks for your patience while I celebrate four decades on this planet and give my massage hands a tiny holiday too!

🌧️ Rainy Saturdays in the spa hit different…
I’m so lucky today — the spa is open and fully booked, and we’ve got ourselves a beautiful rainy Saturday. Which, let’s be honest, is absolutely perfect. ☔✨
And here’s why a warm tropical downpour is actually the best time to be on the massage table…
In humid climates like ours, heat and humidity tends to cause fluid buildup and swelling in the body — and massage helps increase blood flow to reduce that swelling and make movement more comfortable. So while the rain is keeping you indoors anyway, your body is genuinely benefiting from the timing!
There’s also the sensory side of it — in humid and rainy conditions, eucalyptus or peppermint oils are recommended to help improve respiratory performance, making the whole experience feel even more refreshing and restorative. 🌿

40 by 40: OFFICIALLY TICKED ✨

This morning I crossed off a big one from my 40 by 40 list…

🏃‍♀️ Run 50 parkruns ✔️

It’s taken time. Early mornings. Hot runs. Seasons where progress felt slow.
But today I ran my 50th parkrun AND finished under 30 minutes… in this humidity 🥵
A double win I didn’t rush, didn’t force, and didn’t give up on.

With my 40th birthday landing next month, the countdown is officially on 🎂
This list has quietly shaped the last little while of my life. Some goals are big, some are simple, all of them meaningful:

• Running a half marathon and a full marathon
• Volunteering at parkrun
• Watching the sunrise and sunset in one day
• Writing a letter to my mum
• Hosting a big backyard party
• Going to New Zealand and seeing a real-life kiwi 🥝
• Finishing a crochet blanket (slow progress counts 😌)

And in between it all, building Crinum Spa Retreat into the calm, grounding space it’s meant to be.

There’s still plenty left to tick off, and I’ll be sharing the journey as it unfolds. Because growth doesn’t arrive all at once… it shows up week by week, choice by choice, sometimes sweaty, sometimes soft 🌿

Here’s to goals with meaning, bodies that carry us forward, and celebrating the milestones along the way 💙
