“don’t squat at the same time” 🤝😂

Looks funny… but this is actually a great example of how tricky non-verbal communication can be.

So much of communication isn’t just words! It’s timing, body language, reading cues, and knowing when to respond.

For many of our kids, this doesn’t come naturally.
They might:
• miss social cues
• respond at the “wrong” time
• struggle to read body language
• feel unsure when it’s their turn

And what looks like “silly” or “out of sync”… is often just a difference in how they process communication.

During Neurodiversity Awareness Week, it’s a reminder that communication isn’t one-size-fits-all - and sometimes, we just need to slow down, support, and meet kids where they’re at 🤍

Playfulness is who we are at Bite & Babble, but it doesn’t take away from our clinical expertise as Speech Pathologists. Some of our team members may be from the stone ages, but our clinical skills are current, evidence based and very much 2026 approved 😂
