Neuroaffirming First Aid Courses at Our NeuroTribe 🌿

In conjunction with Hands on First Aid, We are hosting our first neuroaffirming First Aid Course at Our NeuroTribe headquarters ✨

📅 Thursday 8th January
🕐 12-3pm (face-to-face)
📍 ONT Hub – Smeaton Grange

This is a nationally recognised first aid training, delivered in a way that actually considers nervous systems, communication differences, sensory needs, and real-life supportive environments.

There is online learning to complete beforehand, so our time together can stay practical, supportive, and low-overwhelm.

It’s a great fit for neurodivergent individuals, parents & carers, or any one else seeking a supportive environment.

Coastal environments are beautiful, but they also come with risks—from strong surf conditions to encounters with marine life. Understanding basic first aid helps you respond quickly and confidently if someone is injured, stung, or distressed in the water. Fast action can reduce pain, prevent complications, and in serious cases, save a life.
It’s especially important to be aware of some of the most venomous creatures in our ocean, including:
- Box jellyfish
- Irukandji jellyfish
- Blue-ringed octopus
- Stonefish
While encounters with these animals are rare, knowing how to recognise danger and provide immediate first aid ensures you’re better prepared to keep yourself and others safe during your coastal adventures.

Can you feel it, Camden? The weather is getting heated!

As we’re out in nature a lot more, it’s important to remember if you sight a snake in public, they are usually in their natural habitat 💚

Remember, if you see a snake:
- Remain calm
- DO NOT approach the snake
- Walk away slowly
- Keep a safe distance so the snake does not feel threatened

You can call Council on 13 22 63 and advise our team of where you saw the snake. We are then able to place signage around the location so others are aware of its sighting 🐍
