WHY YOU MAY NOT BE LOSING WEIGHT, EVEN WHEN YOU EAT HEALTHY
You may have taken control of your food choices, making healthy choices, reducing fats and sugars, and eating smaller amounts of food. If so, then hopefully you have stopped seeing the rising numbers each time you step on the scales. If so, congratulations. But why isn’t the weight coming off? Let’s assume that the problem is not due to any medication that may be interfering with your appetite or metabolism. If you are now eating only until you feel comfortably full, think of it this way, your body has no need to burn the fat you’ve already accumulated, it’s getting all the energy it needs from your current diet.
Your body is only going to burn off those rolls of fat if your body needs more energy than you are consuming. To lose weight you will now need to eat a little less than it takes to satisfy your hunger. When there is a deficit of food the body can start to burn the stored fat for energy, and in time you should notice your weight is reducing. When you experience some hunger then you can know that your body is using up that old fat. (This is not an instruction to start fasting)
There is a ‘but’. Make sure that you exercise and use your muscles. Muscle is another source of energy and you want to ensure that your body burns fat not muscle. Exercising tells your body that the muscle is needed, use that fat for energy instead.
