Are you due for a Cervical Screening test (previously known as a Pap Smear)?

We have our nurse, Saffron, who is certified in cervical screening running a clinic on Thursday 18th December AND Thursday 29th January. She can complete your Cervical Screening Test then and can also discuss self-collect tests.

Please allow 30 minutes for your appointment. A $25 nurse/consumables fee applies. No other costs.

This is an appointment with the nurse ONLY, and is for those who are due for their cervical screening AND have seen a doctor at Earl Street Surgery in the past 12 months.

We have an overwhelming demand for doctor's appointments at the moment, with next available appointments often being 3 weeks away. So if you cannot attend your appointment please please please cancel or reschedule it with at least 3 hours' notice. We have plenty of people that would love your appointment.

If you are late for your appointment, our doctors are unlikely to be able to see you as they have other patients waiting and is considered a missed appointment.

Our cancellation policy states that we require 3 hours' notice. A cancellation fee may apply if less than 3 hours' notice is given, or the appointment is missed.

Did you know we have a cancellation policy?

The goal of our practice is to encourage patients to keep their appointments or give enough notice when cancelling to create a fair/consistent booking system for all our patients. We understand that changes do occur and offer flexibility and understanding when change is necessary.

Our cancellation/missed appointment policy requires patients to give a minimum of 3 hours notice when cancelling/rescheduling an appointment (keep in mind our business opening hours). Failure to do so can result in a $50 fee being charged. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances.

Did you know that we are a mixed billing practice?

Our doctors bill privately (that means you pay the full fee at the time of your appointment and receive the Medicare rebate after paying- ask us about what you get back if you are unsure).

IF you hold a concession, DVA, commonwealth seniors or health care card, or are under the age of 16, only Dr Da Silva, Dr Mariet Job, Dr Sumayya, Dr Anees and the RMO under Dr Marques' supervision will bulk bill you (that means you don’t pay a consult fee at the end of the appointment*). We can not bulk bill you if we don’t have a valid card on record, so feel free to check with us if we have your concession information on file.

*at times there may be a small fee for consumables if you’ve had a minor procedure in our practice.

Christmas is fast approaching and we recommend you book in your appointments NOW for Christmas, especially if you will be needing scripts over the festive period. A few of our doctors are already booked out until the new year.

Did you know that we have PathWest services available directly in the practice! Skip the queues and pop down today with your pathology form and Medicare card. You don’t need to need be a patient at Earl Street Surgery to utilise the PathWest there.

PathWest is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm, and 1:30pm to 4:00pm. You can always call ahead on 9881 1333 to confirm that the service is available.

Need a script, referral or requesting a test?

We assist where possible and take into consideration if you have seen a doctor here in the past 6 months or have recently been prescribed the medication by us, but to guarantee you receive what you are after we advise making an appointment (telephone appointment may be available if you have been seen by the doctor you're booking with in the last 6 months). Fees may apply for requests.

PLEASE plan in advance for any script, referral or test needs and know when you will need new scripts/tests/referrals. Allow up to 5 working days for an appointment or for it to be processed.

A good trick is to call us when you FILL your last repeat script at the pharmacy (the pharmacy can always provide you with a written copy of what is coming up for renewal). And remember that most scripts/referrals/test request expire after 12 months- so fill them before they expire!

🩺 Dr Ilario Da Silva (male) - Principal GP. Sees his regular patients only and often booked for 6 weeks in advance so plan ahead/prebook your appointments with him. Bulk bills for concession/healthcare/commonwealth seniors card holders, DVA, and children 15 years or under. All others privately billed.

🩺 Dr Megan Hardie (female) - GP & Obstetrics. Sees her regular patients only and often booked for 6-8 weeks in advance so plan ahead/prebook your appointments with her.
Has a Children's Clinic on Fridays during school term (new child patients welcome for this clinic). All patients (children and adults) privately billed.

🩺 Dr Rhona Marques (female) - Specialist GP & Aged Care. Sees her patients on a Thursday morning. ALL patients (children and adults) privately billed.
Also supervises the Resident Medical Officers who have appointments available at Earl Street Surgery (new patients welcome). We currently have Dr Renae.

🩺 Dr Sayyida Anees (female) - Registrar. All patient welcome- special skills training in mirena/implanon insertion. Bulk bills for concession/healthcare/commonwealth seniors card holders, DVA, and children 15 years or under. All others privately billed. New patients welcome
