Nominees must be students who have completed their final year of clinical training at an Australian Tertiary Institution with an APAC accredited postgraduate clinical psychology program.

Our Midwifery Group Practice teams provide women with pregnancy care from the same small group of midwives for the duration of their pregnancy.

King Edward Memorial Hospital, hospital-based Midwifery Group Practice 4 and 5 were launched ten years ago to ensure more women, with varying levels of complexity during pregnancy, had equal access to the continuity of care model.

To celebrate their 10-year anniversary, women who have been part of the MGP 4 or 5 program are invited to attend an afternoon tea in early March.

Our nurses support wellbeing at every stage of life, from our perinatal, postnatal and infant teams and youth mental health, all the way through to our older adult community mental health services. At every patient touchpoint they work tirelessly to equip consumers with the tools and confidence to overcome their mental health challenges.

Today, and every day, we thank mental health nurses for their dedication, expertise, compassion and care.

The Liver Cancer Collaborative (LCC) has been extended for another four years, following $7.8 million funding for its innovative research program that aims to beat primary liver cancer.

February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and a great opportunity to highlight the amazing care our nursing and oncology teams provide for patients on the treatment journey for this devastating disease.
King Edward Memorial Hospital is home to the Western Australian Gynaecologic Cancer Service, providing statewide comprehensive cancer care for women and their families across the state.
Ovarian Cancer is Australiaโ€™s most fatal female cancer and in most cases, it is diagnosed at an advanced stage, when it is very difficult to treat.
The symptoms are often vague and there is currently no screening test available. So, remind the women in your lives that they know their bodies best.
If something feels wrong, make a time to see your doctor.

Meet King Edward Memorial Hospital Clinical Midwife Jenni who played a key role in creating a new evidenced-based checklist, which is now being used by midwives across Australia as part of early antenatal care.

As part of the Every Week Counts Collaborative, a Preterm Birth Prevention Checklist was created to provide a practical, evidence-based framework to support consistent care across maternity settings.

Midwives are central to the delivery of this care and play a crucial role in improving outcomes for women and babies. The checklist helps midwives identify risk factors, facilitate timely interventions and promote consistency in care across all maternity settings.

Every Week Counts Collaborative is a national preterm and early-term birth prevention program that supports clinicians to optimise the timing of birth and improve outcomes for women and babies. The initiative was established to empower women to make informed decisions around their pregnancy and birth.

A newly-renovated occupational therapy kitchen at Graylands Hospital is supporting patients to practice self-care as part of their rehabilitation journey.

With cooking being an important life skill, the kitchen provides a 'home-style' learning environment where patients can share and retain their culinary skills while socialising.

The kitchen is a highlight for many, providing patients with meal options and activities that are not always available in a hospital setting.

A huge thank you to our occupational therapy, facilities management and trades teams who were instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.

It all forms part of our focus on providing consumer-focussed care to support their long-term wellbeing.
