HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

NMC will be closed this Friday and will reopen again on Saturday 27th of January 2018.

Will be more than 30 degrees and UV will be as high of more than 14. Please take extra care of yourself from the harsh sun. Make sure you slip on some sunscreen and avoid being in the sun as much as possible.

The National Cervical Screening Program will change from 1 December 2017 to improve early detection and save more lives. The two yearly Pap test for people aged 18 to 69 will change to a five yearly human papillomavirus (HPV) test for people aged 25 to 74. People will be due for the first Cervical Screening Test two years after their last Pap test.

Today is World Diabetes Day🌍

Diabetes is the name used to describe a metabolic condition of having higher than normal blood sugar levels.

Did you know that diabetes:

- Is the leading cause of blindness in working age adults
- Is a leading cause of kidney failure and dialysis
- Increases the risk of heart attacks and stroke by up to four times
- Is a major cause of limb amputations
- Affects mental health as well as physical health. Depression, anxiety and distress occur in more than 30% of all people with diabetes.

Common symptoms include:
- Being more thirsty than usual
- Passing more urine
- Feeling tired and lethargic
- Always feeling hungry
- Having cuts that heal slowly
- Itching, skin infections
- Blurred vision
