The past two weeks have been the most beautiful experience as we have gotten to know this little man and settle into life as a family of three.

A huge thank you to .centred for holding the fort while Dane has been on paternity leave. We are so grateful for your support and feel incredibly lucky to have you as part of our team.

To all of our wonderful patients and community, thank you so much for your kind messages, well wishes and thoughtful gifts. We truly feel so supported by this amazing community during such a special time. Your patience, understanding and kindness while we’ve taken a little time to adjust to life with a newborn has meant the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such caring people.

Dane is back in the clinic from today, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tracey will also continue seeing patients on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.
We can’t wait for you all to meet him 🧡

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual healthcare that recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how the joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a unit.

Using an assessment, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, osteopaths can identify dysfunction in your body. Osteopathic treatments utilise techniques such as stretching and massage for general treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation of specific joints.

In Australia, osteopaths are government registered practitioners who complete a minimum of 5 years' univeristy training in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques.

Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners and are trained to recognise conditions that require medical referral. They are also trained to perform standard medical examinations of the musculoskeletal, cardiovasuclar, respiratory and nervous systems.

Osteopathy is covered by most private health funds and by Medicares chronic disease managment plans (CDMPs). Osteopaths are also registered providers for DVA patients

One of the most common complaints osteopaths see in a consultation is neck pain.

Neck pain can affect anyone of all ages, body types and careers. There are several factors that can predispose an individual to experience neck pain more frequently; some of these include previous whiplash injuries, prolonged computer use and arthritis of the cervical spine. Dysfunction of the musculoskeletal structures of the neck can also lead to headaches and dizziness.

At Resolve Osteopathy we have treated neck conditions from as young as 2 weeks old, up to 90 years old. Come in and see us to move and feel better.

The hip, knee and ankle-foot are the main weight-bearing structures of the body. Injuries can be caused by a sudden force (ie rupture of archilles tendon) or chronic over use injuries (ie patellar femoral pain syndrome).

Hey there Port Stephens! We are a new health business that has just opened up in the Nelson Bay CBD. We offer osteopathic services which include a thorough health history, manual therapy hands on treatment and individual tailored management programmes.

Our treatments can consist of massage, stretching,joint manipulation, dry needling and cupping as well as rehabilitative services like taping and exercise prescription.
Treatments are approximately 40 minutes, $100 for an initial and $90 for a return, with a $10 discount available on all treatments to valid concession card holders.
We have HICAPS available to people with private health and we offer on the spot rebates to those who have a CDMP from their GP.
