When you sit in the warmth, your body starts to slow down.

It teaches you how to push through
How to keep going even when you’re exhausted
How to ignore the little signals… until they’re not so little anymore

But over time, I’ve learned something different.

Pain isn’t something to fight or override
It’s something to listen to

Not all pain needs deep pressure
Not all tension needs to be “worked out”

Sometimes your body is asking for:
Slowness
Gentleness
Space to breathe

That understanding has completely changed the way I treat.

Because it’s not about doing more
It’s about doing what your body actually needs 🤍

One of the biggest misconceptions I see…

Is that a “good” massage needs to be deep or intense.

But when your body is already tense and guarded,
more pressure isn’t always the answer.

That’s where something like a sauna beforehand can make such a difference.

It helps your body soften first
So we don’t have to force anything during your treatment

Which often means:
Less discomfort
More release
A better overall result

For a long time, I was told everything was “normal.”

Even when I was in pain
Even when my body was struggling
Even when I knew something wasn’t right

So I learned to push through
To keep going
To ignore what my body was trying to say

And I know I’m not the only one.

I see it in so many of the people who come to me
Living with tension, fatigue, discomfort…
being told it’s just stress, or that it’s “not that bad”

But living in a body that hurts — even quietly — is exhausting.

These days, I don’t believe in pushing through.

Because I know what it feels like to need something different
Something gentler
Something that actually listens

You might not realise this, but what you do before your massage can completely change how your body responds.
One of my favourite ways to prepare the body is spending time in an infrared sauna beforehand.
The gentle heat helps to warm the muscles, soften tension, and bring your nervous system into a more relaxed state before you even get on the table.
This means we can often go deeper, more effectively, without needing to push or force anything.
It’s not about doing more…
It’s about preparing your body to receive.

A little personal moment today.
This morning I dropped my parents at the train as they begin their long trip home. Having them here these past weeks has been really special, and I tried to soak up every minute I could.
Thank you to everyone who was understanding while my schedule was a little wonky during their visit. I’m so grateful for the kindness and flexibility of this community.
Now it’s back to the treatment room and the normal rhythm of the week. Looking forward to seeing many of you soon.
