Volunteering in action at Baby Give Back 💛

A fantastic session in the warehouse “alley,” sorting donated clothing by size and keeping everything organised for families in need.

Great engagement with the volunteer coordinator, listening carefully to guidance and learning from experienced volunteers along the way.

Confidence is growing — with the next step already locked in: progressing to quality checking at the next visit. 👏✨

Back at UpLoved and straight into it!

Plenty of pricing to tackle — and when the tags ran out, the team made more and kept the momentum going.

With stock flying through the bags and customers popping in along the way, it was a busy and productive session all round. Great teamwork and work ethic on display!

SLES Group 2026 – Week 1! 🚀

We kicked off the year with connection, laughs, and some solid reflection. The group shared their “glow-ups,” recognised how far they’ve come, and set goals for work, study, and independence in 2026.

Big Power Ups already showing: confidence talking to people, stronger work skills, and better time management. 💪

We also launched our Uploved Uplift project — hands-on experience in business, retail, teamwork, and problem-solving in a supported space.

An honest, motivated start to the year — and we’re only just getting warmed up. 🔥

This afternoon, one of our participants spent time applying for multiple jobs — building momentum and staying consistent with their job search.

With a strong resume and a solid cover letter template ready to go, it really does feel like it’s only a matter of time before opportunities start landing. 🤞✨

Great persistence and focus — this is how progress happens.

Today, one of our participants learned how to deposit and withdraw money from an ATM — a big and practical step toward financial independence.

Building confidence with everyday banking skills like this is an important milestone, and they handled it really well. Great progress! 💳✨

It was great to have one of our participants back at UpLoved this week after a few weeks away!

They jumped straight into organising and rearranging the space, helping keep the store clean, fresh, and customer-ready. A solid session getting back into routine and contributing meaningfully to the team — great to see! ✨🧹

Today, one of our participants visited their local IGA, where the manager accepted their resume, noted availability, and shared that the store is regularly hiring — a really encouraging outcome!

Having a potential workplace close to home is a big win for building travel independence, and the positive interaction gave a great confidence boost. The session continued with online job searching and a career exploration activity, prompting some thoughtful conversations about future pathways and long-term goals.

Next up: more job applications… and maybe even starting Prep L’s 🚗✨

Today, one of our participants completed a Careers by Industry activity — exploring a wide range of job options and sorting them into “Yes,” “No,” and “Maybe” categories.

They thoughtfully explained their choices, reflecting on personal strengths, interests, and the types of roles where they feel they would thrive. A great session focused on self-awareness, decision-making, and exploring future possibilities 🌱👏

With a big milestone year ahead, it was time to start locking in a signature look 💇‍♂️✨

Today’s session also focused on future planning — brainstorming interests, strengths, and areas to focus on in the coming weeks and months as adulthood approaches.

A great mix of self-expression, goal setting, and looking ahead to what’s next 👏

A strong start to the year! 🎯

In his first session back, one of our participants spent time exploring both study and employment options. He applied for a dream role as a Game Master and Bar Attendant at an escape room venue, drawing on his solid escape room experience and recent customer service skills.

He also explored study pathways, using the PACT website to research the Tourism Award and connect it back to skills developed through SLES group activities.

A great example of job readiness, independent research, and taking initiative early in the year 👏

Starting the year at UpLoved! ✨

One of our participants arrived bright and happy, chatting about their holiday break and an upcoming festival they’re really looking forward to. They brought in some clothes to sell at UpLoved and enjoyed styling an outfit for the festival as well 👗🎶

They helped open the shop and worked through some changes with guidance from staff. Together, a mannequin was set up outside using donated items to show the store was open, while the participant independently refreshed the other mannequins for the new year and completed pricing tasks.

They stayed busy and engaged throughout the session. We welcomed one customer today — no sales this time, but still a great learning opportunity and a solid, work-ready experience all round. 👏
