There’s a moment every woman knows.

That quiet, private pause after eating when the guilt creeps in…
The “why did I do that again?”
The “what’s wrong with me?”
The “I promised myself I’d be better.”

For years, I thought "I" was the problem.
Not disciplined enough.
Not strong enough.
Not in control.

But here’s the truth no one told us:

Most of our behaviours around food aren’t about willpower at all.

They’re about unmet needs.
Nervous system patterns.
Old stories we didn’t even realise we inherited.

A body that’s simply trying to protect us the best way it knows how.

And once you understand that…
Everything changes.
The shame softens.
The clarity returns.

Everyone keeps saying “just relax”…
as if the nervous system is a light switch.
Cute idea.
Wrong biology.

If relaxing were that easy, we’d all be floating around unfazed, glowing like moonlit angels.

But most of us?
We’re walking around holding stress in our jaw, chest, belly… pretending it’s normal.

My favorite one liner i often share in class is "relaxations is a skill".

Yep, a skill we could all use a little more practice in.

If you want the kind of calm that actually sticks, the kind your body FEELS, not the kind your brain tries to think its way into consider coming to next Saturday’s Sound & Breath Journey.

Another lap around the sun, and this one feels softer… clearer… more me.
It's just taken 47 years!

I’m just thankful for the people in my life, the lessons that shaped me, and the small moments that keep bringing me home to myself.

Your love, your words, your presence. it all means more than you know.

Here’s to another year of growing, healing, laughing, nourishing, and living with a little more ease.

Thank you 17 🙏 year old Larissa for your firey determination to understand life and yourself at a deeper level, you are the reason I have a little left of centre way I share my gifts with the world today.

30 years on I'm proud of the women, the mother, the lover, the supporter and the guide I've become xx

I can't even fathom or believe I was so low at that time, that I wanted to get off this planet too early. Phew!! 😮‍💨

Here's to another 30 years, I'll probably be making myself a holographic video by then.

“Maybe I’m using meditation to escape" a friend told me the other day.

And honestly?
Same, babe. Sometimes… same.
Here’s the thing:

I have one teacher who says:
“Meditation is NOT for escape. It’s for integration.

Feeling your emotions. Facing your truth.
Connecting to higher guidance. Then taking action.”

(Absolutely. Yes. Correct. Very adult of us.)

And then I have another teacher. highly respected here in Australia, who told us she started meditating simply because:
“I needed time out from a toxic relationship until I could get the courage to leave.”
Which one is right?
Which one is wrong?

Sorry not sorry 😣 :
Neither. And both.

Because meditation is a tool and tools meet you where you’re at.

Sometimes meditation is the place where you finally face yourself.
Your emotions.
Your patterns.
Your truth.
(Confronting, yes. But powerful.)

And sometimes meditation is the ONLY quiet moment you get in a life that feels too loud…
A pause you use to cope until you can breathe again…

A soft escape that keeps you functioning until you’re ready to make changes.
Both are valid.
Both are human.
Both are part of healing.
My view?
Use meditation for what you need today.
Escape if you need to.
Integrate when you’re ready.
Let it evolve as you do.
There is no “wrong way”
if it’s helping you stay connected to yourself, even gently.
