KYNETON HEALTH CARE VAN ON THE ROAD THANKS TO GENEROUS LOCALS

Macedon Ranges residents needing care in the home will now have medical equipment installed in their home more efficiently due to the new, larger van recently purchased and fitted out by Kyneton Health due to the generosity of donors.

The van will support the Macedon Ranges Community Nursing team who provide services to patients in their homes, including end-of-life palliative care, across the region. This new vehicle fits all of the necessary equipment without needing to disassemble and reassemble larger items so that vital care can commence as soon as possible.

The idea to fundraise for a new van came from local business owner Troy Upfield from Wooling Hill Memorial Estate. He wanted to raise funds for something that would make a real impact in his community through his charity event in October 2022. The idea became a reality thanks to his collaboration with Lisa Fowler who agreed to be the major sponsor for the event, Mount Macedon Realty - Wooling Hill Run 2022. Funds for the van also came from general donations to the health services from very generous members of the community.

Troy Upfield from Wooling Hill Memorial Estate said,
“The staff at Kyneton Health provide essential support to our community during their time of need, so it’s essential that we support them. I’d like to thank all the donors who contributed to this great cause, in particular, Lisa from Mount Macedon Realty, who has been extremely generous!”

Lisa Fowler from Mount Macedon Realty said,
“Mount Macedon Realty is thrilled to be involved in this nurturing project that has already helped so many people. We are so pleased to be associated with this worthy service which has such visible benefits for local patients and their families in their time of need.”

Maree Cuddihy, CEO of Central Highlands Rural Health said,
“The new Care Van means that we can provide essential treatment quickly to those needing in-home medical services from our Community Nursing team. The generosity of Troy and Liddy Upfield and Lisa Fowler, along with members of the community who participated in the fundraising event, is amazing. Their contributions to rural healthcare will have an incredible impact on the Macedon Ranges community.”

This isn’t the first time that Troy and Lisa have shown their commitment to the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of their community. In 2021, the Mount Macedon Realty - Wooling Hill Run raised funds to purchase a cuddle bed for Kyneton Health’s palliative care suite in the acute ward. The bed allows people to lay next to loved ones during the end of their life care. Troy also hosted the Kyneton Golf Day in 2023 which raised funds for the dialysis unit that is providing essential life support treatment to patients with kidney disease.

Chapter House and Wooling Hill is saddened at the loss of our care dog in training, Teddy.
Unfortunately Teddy had a tussle with a brown snake. Lucy and Teddy have comforted many families in our care. Lucy is very distressed today, however we know Lucy will be ok and continue to assist us caring for families.
Teddy will be laid to rest at The Field of Companions, Wooling Hill Memorial Estate.

We're thrilled to share that we've formed a partnership with Joseph, a talented local sculptor known as
Vagabond Creations. This collaboration began when Liddy met Joseph at the Bolobek Garden Lovers Fair and sparked a conversation about sculpture at Wooling Hill, leading to the idea of offering families the option to commemorate their loved ones through sculpture.

Families will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of Joseph's creations or even request custom, one-of-a-kind pieces. These sculptures can hold the ashes of their departed family members, allowing them to be placed within or integrated into the artwork.

Families will have the option to choose memorial sculptures, ensuring a lasting tribute that will forever grace the Wooling Hill gardens.

Wooling Hill Memorial Estate (372 Barringo Road, New Gisborne) is open to visitors every day of the year from 9am to 5pm. If you wish to have a conversation about funeral arrangements or memorials, please get in touch with us to schedule an appointment at 5426 1333.

Thank you to our participants and sponsors to our inaugural Golf Day.
It's heartwarming to witness the generous contributions of numerous small businesses from the Macedon Ranges.
Wooling Hill Memorial Estate is proud to sponsor and host events with Central Highlands Rural Health. Throughout the last three years, our community's generosity, as expressed through our events, has enabled the acquisition of a "cuddle bed" to provide comfort to palliative care patients and their loved ones. We've also secured a palliative care van for the transportation of home care equipment, and this year, we've successfully raised vital funds for dialysis. THANK YOU!

Wooling Hill Memorial Estate

Wooling Hill Memorial Estate is a premier provider of cremation memorial spaces, as well as a beautifully presented venue for funerals, memorial services, and family celebrations at a stunning location in the Macedon Ranges Barringo Valley on the edge of Melbourne.

This well established and meticulously maintained memorial park is located on Barringo Road in New Gisborne. The property itself predates the establishment of Gisborne and consists of 16 hectares of well-groomed lawns and gardens, with extensive grounds consisting of immaculate lawns, mature trees, and shrubs coupled with lakes and water features.

The European style gardens boast an extraordinary collection of exotic plants along with thousands of mature trees and breathtaking views around the Macedon Ranges. There are eight lakes, waterfalls, a rose garden, an atrium with water feature, and a small vineyard that produces shiraz and chardonnay grapes. Four of the eight lakes plus a bore and seasonal creek provide plenty of water for the gardens.

A sealed asphalt road leads from the front gate at Barringo Road to the homestead and provides access to multiple car and bus parking spaces for up to 156 vehicles.
