Something I teach clients is to find any way that works to self express.. just have an outlet that you can use to process through your emotions. It doesn't ALWAYS have to be talking.. for some people it's the gym, for some it's creating through art or music. For me it's become a mixture of alot of things but more recently im teaching myself music.

I'm committed to learning new things at the moment for two reasons:
1. To keep my brain health excelling in a world where it has everything it needs to be lazy AF.
2. To help move me through a currently challenging time. Something else I teach clients: feel your feels, process through them and then keep on moving forwards. The problem with feeling emotions is only when you get stuck in them.

Every time you hit the floor is just another opportunity to stand up a little taller. 🫶

This is 5 days of teaching myself one of my favourite Jessie Murph songs... I'm almost getting the hands good enough to add in some words 😅🫠

One of my beautiful clients sent me this..
These are the things that drive me continuously to show up in my business - the impact that working with someone through their past so that they can be empowered in their future.. giving them new tools to tackle new challenges, holding a non-judgemental space for them while they peel back layers and build new ones.. I truely am blessed to walk that journey with them 🙏

The most powerful yet under-rated and under-used tool that is free and available to everyone - the breath!

When we bring our conscious awareness back to our breath, we are signalling to our sub-conscious mind that we are safe (there's no time to think about your breath in an actual life or death situation) which is step 1 for calming an over-stimulated nervous system.
Then you can implement a simple breathing technique such as box breathing or the 4, 6, 8 method for lowering your heart rate and activating the parasympathetic nervous system response of restoring calm 🧘‍♀️

Circling thoughts are generally useless! If you aren't CONSCIOUSLY contemplating, or planning or deciding then spiralled or circling thoughts are generally pretty unhelpful.
We circle/spiral think on situations that our body wants to heal.. unresolved emotions or a need for clariry etc.
Having the discipline to stay out of your mind can be tiring as it's an ongoing endeavour but it is important!
When you notice yourself in spiralled/unhelpful thinking STOP and ask yourself instead:
How do I feel about this situation?
How do I feel in my body?
What emotions do I need to admit and process through?
Are there any feelings I am denying? Shame, guilt etc
And my favourite:
✨️What decisions can I make in regards to moving this situation forward?
✨️how can I let go?

If you are stuck or aren't sure how to process through a sticky situation then reach out and find out how I can work with you.

Taking time to shake things up and keep the excitement of life going.
It doesn't take much for me to feel like I'm stuck in the cycle of the grind and I do not like that at all..

Life should be fun and if I'm not enjoying myself I will actively choose to do the things I know bring me some happiness.. and for me a big one is ADVENTURE.

So today we went on a random train ride to Sydney and back to explore Chinatown rather than stay in side while it rains 🌧

What can you do to bring some more excitement or enjoyment in life? What are the places/people/activities that bring you happiness and/or peace?

2 easy ways to start cultivating that self love:
Bringing focus to the things you can already appreciate about yourself, and
Learning to hold space and compassion for the uncomfortable things you experience.

Self love to me is a little different to self worth or self respect and definitely something I along with most people are constantly working on!

There is not one client I haven't worked through how to learn self respect, worth and love with on some level, so go easy on yourself ♡

Build your resilience during the easy times so that you have more of it during the challenging times.
Have a toolkit of techniques that you can call on during a tough time, like a game plan for when things take a turn.

People are always commenting on how happy I am and how much fun I have in life. And I do. Because I choose it every day. And it's not always easy.

People see the happy me, always exploring, always looking for adventure and beauty in the little things. Always showing up for my kids and friends and clients. Always laughing and joking around.
But people don't see the parts of me that struggle to be vulnerable because I haven't known many safe spaces. People don't see the side of me that shows up in intimate relationships, scared and pained by my past experience.
People don't see the days I swallow all the memories of the traumas I have endured so that I can show up for others and be the safe place for them to land. People don't see me exhausted from having to always pull myself up when times get tough.

I have been on a healing journey since my teens now, constantly working on myself, delving deep into whatever I need to work through it and let it all go.. and I am actually able to be grateful for my path because I can see how my experiences benefit others in the work I do.
But.. sometimes a bad memory is still triggered, sometimes a wound is reopened, and sometimes I relive some of the worst moments of my life just trying to understand why I feel the way I do about things.

But that's why happiness is a choice - because every day, especially on the hard days, I have to choose to show up and do the work if its needed or take the rest if it's needed or get outside or find some beauty in something small, or reframe my mindset to look for something to be grateful for. And I get up the next day and I choose it again.
