Well… it’s been an exceptionally busy period for the MSS crew.
With our current move toward a permanent base for both living and operations, I’ll be glad to see this mission through to completion. It’s a big step forward for us.
A sincere thank you to our new members coming on board. We’re here to support both participants and their families through transitions into new SIL arrangements, helping ease what can often be a stressful and challenging process.
There’s a lot happening within the NDIS space right now. Talk of significant participant reductions is understandably creating concern across the community. It appears to align with broader structural shifts we’ve seen developing over the past year, and likely more to come.
As a smaller provider, MSS remains focused on what matters most — essential day support services. Personally, I continue to concentrate on support coordination while that remains my role. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond in service provision, therapy guidance, and carefully selecting the right staff to support each individual.
Looking ahead, I believe registration is on the horizon for MSS — but for now, it’s about steady growth, alignment, and staying true to our core values.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked hard to realign the business, strengthen reporting, and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct — all part of building something stronger and more sustainable.
We remain a mobile and flexible service, supporting participants locally and across Tasmania, and continuing to work with both plan-managed and self-managed participants.
A big thank you as well to a Melbourne-based agency who reached out for support while one of their participants was visiting family in Hobart — we’re always happy to assist where we can.
These are challenging times, particularly for those living with complex mental health conditions. I’ll continue to monitor the changes closely and advocate wherever possible. It’s important we stay prepared for what’s ahead.
On a lighter note — with a few hours to spare waiting on a windscreen replacement, I’ll be reflecting over coffee and breakfast at the Lazy Brunch Café.
Regards,
