Medical Support Officers - Non Emergency Patient Transport

We operate three Non-Emergency Patient Transport Stations in Launceston, Devonport and Hobart.
With our continued expansion in Non-Emergency Patient Transport we have opportunity for more casual Medical Support Officers to join our growing team.
Positions for registered health professionals, health students and trainees.

Moreton Group Medical Services is a multidisciplinary healthcare provider that proudly provides leading services in the following areas: training, event medical services, non-emergency patient transport and outreach primary healthcare.

Moreton Group Medical Services is committed to improving healthcare access for Tasmanians by facilitating access to essential health services through patient transport and primary health programs. We proudly provide more than 7500 free Primary Health GP and Nurse Practitioner consultations each and every year. Working with us helps fund our for purpose work with some of our states most vulnerable.

Proudly Moreton Group Medical Services support student paramedics and nurses to gain practical patient centred experience that boosts their resume for when they graduate. In the past six months we have provided professional references for fourteen of our team, who have taken offers of employment with Government Ambulance and Health Services across Australian and internationally. This means we are looking for more people to join our team as our business continues to grow.

About the Role

Moreton Group Medical Services are seeking applications for casual Medical Support Officers to work in our non-emergency patient transport and events teams. This opportunity is an excellent introduction to non-acute healthcare for those considering or working towards a career in nursing or paramedicine.

For those nurses or paramedics already qualified and registered, it is a great opportunity to flexibly supplement your income!

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Perform high-quality patient care and treatment on-road.

Accurate assessment and documentation.

Work autonomously utilising your experience and the established policies and procedures.

Operation of a fleet vehicle.

Work collaboratively with other staff members.

Use of digital communication systems.

Qualifications and experience required (under legislation) any of the following:

Cert III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport (HLT31120)

Registered Nurse,

Enrolled Nurse,

Registered Paramedic

Studying Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121) and completed the second Professional Experience Placement

Studying Bachelor of Nursing (have completed second Professional Experience placement if undertaking UTas fast track program or have completed Year 2, Semester 1 Professional Experience Placement with any university).

Studying Bachelor of Paramedicine and completed Year 1, Semester 2.

Licences and Checks

Full Australian Drivers Licence.

Working with Vulnerable People.

National Police Check (no more than 12 months old).



Mandatory vaccinations:

Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis

Varicella.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella.

Hepatitis B.

Influenza.
