Male infertility is where a couple can't conceive after a year of regular, unprotected s*x, and on investigation we find an issue with s***m quantity or quality. It's a common factor in fertility struggles.

In Australia, about 8-9% of men and 15% of couples face infertility. Among infertile couples, male infertility accounts for about 1 in 4 cases. Female factors are the sole cause in 1 in 3 cases, while both male and female factors play a role in over 1 in 3 cases.

We would recommend doing a s***m testified you have been trying for 6 months without success. These days there are even at home collection options you can request from your NewcastleFertilitySpecialist.

Over the weekend, Dr Angela Dunford and Dr Kate Burston had the opportunity to present to local GPs at the Hunter Postgraduate Medical Institute’s Women’s Health Update, contributing to an excellent day of women’s health education.

A tubal flush serves a dual purpose: it checks that your fallopian tubes are open with no blockages and enhances pregnancy rates. For younger women, approximately 30-40% who undergo an HSG (Hysterosalpingography) will conceive within 6-12 months, often without the need for further treatment. Yes no IVF needed! And the best part? It's a safer alternative compared to a laparoscopy which involves keyhole surgery

This non-invasive procedure offers hope, providing answers and potentially expediting the journey to parenthood. 🌟🤰

That is what I like to see - that perfect dot in the middle of the uterus. The dot is actually the air bubble that has pushed the embryo out the end of the transfer catheter. Right in the middle of the endometrium all ready to go.

How do STI (Sexually transmitted infections) impact fertility?

Untreated STIs can lead to fertility issues in BOTH men and women.

For women, an untreated STI can cause scarring and inflammation in the fallopian tubes, making it hard for s***m to reach an egg because the tubes get blocked.

For men, STIs can cause infection and damage to the epididymis which stores s***m next to the testicle; this impairs s***m transport.
