I was excited to watch Australian Story today and hear Jane Dudleys story of how doing regular faecal transplants 'cured her' (her words) of bi polar. This may be new to the mainstream but it is not new to those of us who have studied the microbiome. Clearly more studies need to be done on this but there is no doubt that the interplay between our gut microbiome and our brain greatly impact mood. Exciting times indeed.
