This week our team attended Sip with Soul and enjoyed a heart-warming evening of great food, conversation and connection with the incredible people behind this important community space ✨
We were lucky enough to catch up with long-time supporters Kiwanis Club of Newcastle -Australia, alongside the wonderful Soul Hub Newcastle team. Kiwanis Newcastle has been involved since the early Soul Kitchen days and continues to champion their work.
We deeply value our partnership through the Soul Clinic, where we see firsthand the difference this support and compassion makes in the lives of vulnerable people across our community.
We are proud to stand alongside organisations and volunteers who are creating meaningful change every day.

Our dietitians, nurses and Aboriginal health workers recently attended an interactive and informative Diabetes Update Day.
Proudly presented by the Diabetes Alliance Program Plus (DAP+) and the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network, the event featured a range of expert speakers from Hunter New England Local Health District, creating a fantastic space for shared learning and collaboration.
Our team took part in hands-on round-table sessions covering continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) interpretation, medication updates, podiatry and a remarkable presentation from leading experts on weight stigma. We even had the opportunity to sample the latest technology in diabetes monitoring, giving our staff valuable, practical insight into emerging tools that support better client care.
🙌 We love supporting ongoing professional development, giving our staff opportunities to learn, grow and connect with local stakeholders for stronger client outcomes.

🌿 We are proud to acknowledge our Aboriginal Health Worker, Lukkas, who presented at the 2025 Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Conference this week.
Delivered by the Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Network, part of the NSW Health Agency for Clinical Innovation in partnership with the AH&MRC of NSW, the conference brought together healthcare professionals across NSW to celebrate success, showcase innovation, and strengthen connectedness across Aboriginal health sectors.
The conference celebrated leadership and growth in Aboriginal health, with all presentations by First Nations workers. In his first-ever conference presentation, Lukkas shared inspiring insights on health, social and emotional wellbeing, highlighting our community-led Shared Health Appointments innovation.
The feedback from attendees was resounding - an incredible achievement for Lukkas and the entire Shared Health Appointments team on such meaningful work! 🌟

Last month, the Headspace Newcastle team welcomed headspace CEO Jason Trethowan to their centre. As the lead agency for headspace Newcastle, our CEO Keith Drinkwater and Board Chair Richard Anicich AM were proud to join Jason for conversations with our Youth Reference Group, Advisory Board and dedicated staff.
It was a great opportunity to reflect on the positive impact headspace Newcastle continues to have on young people’s mental health and wellbeing and to discuss how we can keep strengthening local support for our community.

A week or so ago, we had the pleasure of a visit from CEO of headspace Jason Trethrowan. It's amazing to have a CEO who takes the time to visit all of the 170 headspace centres throughout Australia and chat about the specific opportunities and challenges that each centre faces. Jason met with our Youth Reference Group, staff lead agency CEO and members of our Advisory board.
We'll be catching up with Jason again at the next headspace conference!
