So, why do we always tell you to try and avoid iced and cold beverages.
The simple reason is that we view your digestive system like a fire,
the food and water that goes in gets burnt up and becomes Qi (vital energy) which is then used throughout your body.
When you dump copious cold fluids in your system, it dampens the fire- less fire - less Qi is available for your body to utilise.
This is particularly important in the morning when your digestive energy is at its low point and we want to stoke the fire up as much as possible.
Warm water or a warming herbal tea like ginger first thing in the morning sets your core fire up to be more efficient, absorb more nutrients and offer you more energy and vitality for the day ahead.

I’ll be at retreat on the 5th to 7th of September at the amazing Wangat nature lodge.
I’ll be giving you some insight into some of my most used women’s health acupuncture points; their location and functions,
and teaching some acupressure and moxibustion techniques you can use at home to stimulate them.
The focus of this retreat is on connecting to our cycles, rhythms and the innate gifts we hold as women and I’m so looking forward to sharing with you all.

In the last 19 years of my career I’ve always endeavoured to be very flexible with appointments for patients.
Especially when dealing so much with women’s cycles, IVF transfers, pregnancy, babies etc; all things that really don’t adhere to rigid timing.
I really want to thank all of my patients, both those who have seen me for over a decade and those who are completely new, for returning the favour and being so flexible with me over the last nine or so weeks when I’ve had to reschedule, cancel and have had such limited availability throughout my partners dads accident and then subsequent passing.
It is truly so appreciated and it means a lot to feel supported in this way by all of you.
I am back to relatively normal hours now and if you need an appointment please don’t hesitate to reach out via 0432079214 or use my online booking links.
In other unexpected occurrences during this time my clinic space in Hunter street was sold and I quietly pinned my last patient in there the other week.
I am still available at Newcastle Osteopathy in Hamilton, Maitland Wellness Centre in Maitland and at The Breast & Endocrine Centre in Gateshead. I will be looking to open another personal space soon and I will update you all when I do.
Anyway, please enjoy a dump of some pictures of nature I’ve been healed by over the last couple of months and some memes I’ve felt seen by.
Nature and community are two of the most powerful providers and reminders of love, resilience, unity and hope that we have at our disposal, and I hope this reminds anyone who is going through hard times to reach out towards them. 💛

My phone is generally always on silent and I do try not to take calls when I am in clinic and focussed on patients receiving care.
If you would like to talk on the phone, you can either send me a quick text requesting I call you or leave a voice mail and I will get back to you on a break.

Lately I have been missing a lot of messages through my Facebook business page as I don’t get notifications and am still trying to fix this issue.
If you message me on Insta or Facebook and I do not get back to you, please text me. I hate missing your messages or getting to them late.

I have online bookings set up, links are in my bio and below. I will receive any notes you put in your appointment booking when you book it.
If there is a specific time you need that isn’t available online, text me or add it in your appointment notes and I will let you know if I can make it work.

My clinic will be closed today due to water that’s come in.
I will be opening up some extra times over this coming week to make up.
Reminder to keep your feet warm, your hair dry and enjoy some stimulating warming teas like ginger, fennel or a nice spicy chai to counteract all this dampness we’re sitting in. ☔️🍵⛩️

Late last night with the arrival of the new moon we also welcomed a new lunar year.
🏮✨The Year of The Snake.✨🏮
And it’s my year.
So please read on for an incredibly biased and only positive review of the snakes traits.
🌑🐍🧧💅💃🏼

Snakes are charming.
Charismatic, magnetic and good talkers.
They are the wisdom keepers and knowledge seekers and are considered the most intuitive of the Chinese zodiac.
Curious, observant, caring and enigmatic, and one of the best things I’ve ever read about snakes was that they are the absolute best lover of the zodiac if not a few pounds over the weight limit. (Gotta love Chinese horoscopes 😆).

And although the year that’s your own year is not technically meant to be the best year for you, (just a pivotal year).
I’ve decided it’s going to be just wonderful,
not just for me,
but for all of us,
and there’s no better time than right now to take on some of the positive characteristics of the snake for 2025.

So…..

🐍Lean into your intuition.
🐍Be confident in your communication and your character.
🐍Seek out practices that will nurture your innate wisdom.
🐍 Indulge in new interests that feed knowledge.
🐍Open yourself up to transformation and shed the skin of anything that’s no longer serving you.

I had lots more to write on this post but alas snakes are also lazy.

Fun facts: ‘Banana’ the snake from Britney’s 2001 MTV performance was transported to its iconic performance on the subway in a cooler bag and by last reports in 2021 she was alive and well and still booking gigs at approximately 45 kilograms in weight and 4 and half metres in length. 🐍💕💅
