To celebrate International Day of People with Disability ( ), our Community Supports team in Warabrook shared what the day means to them. πŸ’œβœ¨
With some staff and customers heading along to events in Swansea and Gillieston Heights today πŸŽ‰, and others business as usual πŸ‘‹, our CEO David Carey is encouraging people to take some time to think about the history of the day. πŸ“–

He shared: β€˜β€™This year’s IDPwD theme is: Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.β€™πŸ€ The theme emphasises the importance of creating inclusive environments that support the rights and wellbeing of persons with a disability. πŸ’ͺ
The annual event came into being in 1992 through the United Nations πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡³ and has been a global recognition of the contribution of people with a disability in society.” 🌟
