✨Sea Change Bariatric Recipe:
Soft Low-Sugar Protein Bars

These gentle-on-the-tummy, protein-boosting bars are perfect for after bariatric surgery – soft, satisfying and low in sugar. Great for work days, school pick-ups, or those “I just need something quick” moments.

🛒 You’ll Need

• 1 cup high-protein Greek yoghurt (YoPro / Chobani Fit)
• 1 cup protein powder (whey or plant-based)
• 2 tbsp natural peanut butter or almond butter
• 1 tbsp chia seeds or flaxseed (optional)
• 1–2 tbsp milk if mixture is too dry

Optional add-ins: cacao powder, a sprinkle of nuts, or a light drizzle of sugar-free maple syrup.

👩‍🍳 How to Make

1️⃣ Line a small tray with baking paper
2️⃣ Mix yoghurt + peanut butter until smooth
3️⃣ Stir in protein powder and chia/flax
4️⃣ Adjust texture (milk if dry, protein powder if wet)
5️⃣ Press into tray
6️⃣ Chill 2–3 hours (or freeze 45 minutes)
7️⃣ Slice into small bariatric-friendly portions

Stores 4–5 days in fridge or freeze individually.

🍾 A gentle festive reminder about alcohol

This time of year is made for relaxing, celebrating, and enjoying time with people you love. And yes, that can include a drink or two.

If you’ve had bariatric surgery, it’s just worth remembering that alcohol hits a little differently now. With a smaller stomach, alcohol is absorbed faster, tolerance is lower, and the effects can sneak up on you before you realise. What once felt like “just one” can suddenly feel like three.

This isn’t about saying don’t enjoy yourself.
It’s about being mindful.

🥂 Celebration doesn’t have to mean excess.
Listening to your body is still part of caring for it.

Enjoy the moments. Enjoy the company.
