Welcoming Dr Katherine Hanks!
Dr Katherine Hanks is a General Practitioner who enjoys caring for people of all ages, from babies and children through to adults, and is pleased to be providing care to individuals and families in the Mayfield community.

She has a strong interest in children’s health, women’s health, and sexual health, and is experienced in providing long-term, relationship-based care for individuals and families.

She is an experienced IUD (Mirena) and Implanon inserter and has completed a Diploma of Child Health, in addition to being a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Dr Katherine is neurodiversity-affirming and welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, including members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and the LGBTQI+ community.

Outside of work, Dr Katherine enjoys spending time with her children, good coffee, and walking along the beach.

We're pleased to introduce Dr Lucy Cochrane. Dr Cochrane enjoys working across the breadth of general practice, with key interests in preventative health, women's health, and children's health.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time outdoors, with a particular love of hiking.

It can help a GP assess heart rhythm and rate, and look for signs of heart stress or other concerns.

An ECG is a quick, non-invasive test.
Results are always considered alongside your history, symptoms, and a clinical assessment by your GP.

It’s a chance to talk about:

• Safety and independence at home
• What support services you use
• Any concerns you’d like your GP to know

The nurse takes the time to listen and record what matters to you.
Your GP will then discuss your health priorities with you at the same visit.

Dr Isabel Watkins provides general practice care with a focus on children’s health and skin cancer management. She also performs minor procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy and small excisions. Dr Watkins has worked in the Hunter region for many years and continues to expand her skills through further study in dermatology.

We want to let our community know that Dr Watkins will be leaving Mayfield Medical Connection in mid-January 2026. We will miss her and wish her well for the future.
