Begin Again Therapy offers comprehensive, neuroaffirming assessments for ADHD and Autism in adults, with telehealth appointments available.

We specialise in working with late-diagnosed women, including those who have spent years masking, managing burnout, anxiety, trauma, or feeling like something has always been “off” without clear answers. Many adults we support come to assessment after long histories of being misunderstood or misdiagnosed.

Our assessment approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and strengths-based — focused on understanding how your brain works, rather than what’s “wrong”.

At Begin Again Therapy, we provide trauma-informed assessments using the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) — a developmentally informed, brain-based approach created by Dr Bruce Perry.

This process helps us understand how trauma, stress, and early experiences have shaped a child or young person’s brain and development. It explores areas such as:

🌱 Self-regulation and arousal patterns
🌱 Sensory and cognitive functioning
🌱 Developmental risk trajectory

From this, we create a functional brain map — highlighting areas of strength and areas needing support. The outcome is a detailed, practical plan that helps caregivers, teachers, and clinicians provide the right kinds of activities and experiences to support regulation and healing.

Assessments can be completed over several sessions, and payment plans are available. Psychologists can provide a valid diagnosis, and if medication is being considered, results can be taken to a psychiatrist for further discussion
