We’re so happy for Amy who passed the most recent milestone for her PhD late last year! 🎓
Amy combines her clinical practice at Pivotal Motion every Wednesday and Saturday with her PhD studies at UQ. She has always been fascinated by how physiotherapy can aid in the prevention and recovery of musculoskeletal conditions, especially when incorporating exercise prescription with manual therapy.
After graduating from the University of Canberra with first-class honours, Amy decided to dive deeper. Her PhD research focuses on shoulder pain, allowing her valuable knowledge and skills to benefit her patients here in the clinic and providing her with valuable insights to ensure her research addresses the most relevant issues.

We are looking for a new person to join our friendly reception and admin team.
We typically offer two shifts each week (usually totalling 10 hours) which fits well around uni commitments. Many of our existing team are physio, EP, or other allied health students.
There is the possibility of additional hours in future for the right candidate if desired, or for those who come to us with prior experience who are looking to take the next step in their part-time practice admin career.
We’re looking for someone with:
✅ A high level of common sense
✅ Strong written and verbal communication skills
✅ Great attention to detail
✅ A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer (patient) service.
✅ An ability to respond efficiently to changing priorities and competing demands
✅ A willingness to multi-task and do what needs to be done when priorities change
✅ Experience learning and navigating new
technologies and platforms (although full training will be provided in our specific software programs)
✅ Prior experience in a similar role would be highly regarded but is absolutely not essential. Common sense and a can-do attitude are key!

Pivotal Motion Physiotherapy is located within a 5km radius of Brisbane CBD and is easily accessible via car, bike or bus. The recently updated Newmarket Village Shopping Centre is the location of this physiotherapy clinic.
Pivotal Motion conducts exercise classes for Active Teens who are looking to improve or maintain their strength for sport. We also run a Balance and Strength class for those who are looking to continue moving without pain, improving strength, preventing falls, improving overall fitness and instilling confidence in function and movement.
As a member of the Newmarket community we support local sporting clubs that include the Newmarket Soccer club, Windsor Royals & Pine Hills Baseball and Brisbane Volleyball Club.
Our Principal Physiotherapist, Bobbie-Jo Strong, looks after two Australian League teams. Both the Brisbane Bandits Baseball and QLD Pirates Volleyball teams are highly successful teams and Bobbie feels extremely privileged to be involved with both.
