Need to relieve a cough? Make a cup of tea using Thyme from your garden or pantry. Just pour boiling water over one teaspoon of the dried leaves or two teaspoons of the fresh ones. Next put the lid on the teapot or cover the top of your mug, and leave the tea to brew for around five minutes. Strain into your cup, add some honey and/or lemon to taste, then sip on the tea while it's still warm. Natural health professionals often include Thyme in cough mixtures for its expectorant, antimicrobial and antispasmodic properties, so if your symptoms persist, have a chat with your practitioner.
