What does stress do to your 💜💚
During stress our “fight or flight” response, is activated by adrenaline and cortisol.
This works well in the short term, and it is designed to rest & restore when the emergency has passed.
However, over time, when it does not return to the rest & restore phase, slowly but surly risks build up increasing your risk of heart disease🫀and stroke🧠.
RedFeb describe Chronic stress as a constant exposure to even fairly low level stress without recovery periods resulting in raising of blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, increasing the risk of coronary disease.
The Good News is......... we can reset the stress response by connecting to others with a hug🤱, a laugh 🤣, an act of kindness 👩👧👧, or sharing a meal or connecting to nature🌳: even 1️⃣hour outdoors can lower cortisol & blood pressure more effectively than screen time.
