Should you require an interpreter service during your consultation, please let our friendly reception staff know, and they will organise this before you see the doctor. 🩺 Thank You for Your Feedback!
At Gasworks Medical Practice, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of care we provide. As part of our recent accreditation process with AGPAL, we invited patients to share their experiences through a feedback survey.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelmingly positive responses — your support means a lot to our team. Your feedback helps us to keep doing what we do well and make improvements where needed.

✅ Appointment Availability
You told us you appreciate timely access to care, and we’re pleased to share that we’ve expanded to help meet demand.

We recently welcomed Dr Kimberley Abussi to the practice.

And today, we're excited to announce the return of Dr Damien Mergard!

🕒 Doctors Running Late & Being Notified
One area for improvement that stood out was communication when doctors are running late. A patient shared:
"Reception staff letting the patient know if there will be a waiting to see their doctor" — and we agree this is important.

We’ve taken several steps to improve:

Reception staff are trained to notify patients if the doctor is running more than 15 minutes late, and sending an SMS when possible.

On arrival, patients should be informed if their doctor is behind schedule.

A daily team member is now dedicated to monitoring the appointment diary and keeping patients updated.

We’ve enabled the HotDoc queue function, so patients can see their place in the queue after checking in.

We acknowledge that this is still a work in progress. With several new staff currently in training, we're prioritising consistency in communication — because we know how frustrating it can be to be left waiting without an update.

Gasworks Medical Practice has received supply for influenza vaccinations. Government funded flu vaccines are available from 6 months of age this year.
You will be required to have a valid Medicare card.
Flu vaccine clinic appointments are available to book online now.

If you are needle phobic or have young children who need more time, we encourage you to make an appointment with your regular GP between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday (fees may apply).

Available Thursday 27th of March 1:45pm-3:30pm with more clinics to open in the coming weeks.

We are reopening after the recent weather event, but the safety of our patients and staff remains our top priority. Please note that some roads are still flooded or affected, so we encourage you to use caution when traveling.

We have been closely monitoring the developing cyclone situation.

The safety of our team and patients is our top priority, therefore we are moving to a TeleHealth model on Thursday and Friday.

The practice will be closed. Your doctor may be working remotely.

Should you require an interpreter service during your consultation, please let our friendly reception staff know, and they will organise this before you see the doctor. We can provide the following services: General Medicine Immunisations Family Planning Travel Advice and vaccination Counselling Health Assessments Medicals (including Aviation) Minor Surgery Skin checks and cryotherapy Implanon insertion Wound care Antenatal share care Mirena insertion (Dr Kasey Reiken) Iron Infusions Workcover consultations Repeat Pathology Requests, Scripts and referrals If you require a repeat script or referral please use our online services located on our website (http://www.gasworksmedical.com.au/) to request the repeat.

A consultation is required for repeat prescriptions unless previously discussed with the Doctor. e.g. when your 6 month script runs out, you are often due for a blood pressure check. Any script requests not requiring a consultation will be filled within 1 - 5 business days.
