This past week exactly 25% of my consults were 30 minute R-System Remedial Massages.
(I actually did the maths.)

We focused on three things:
Relaxation
Realignment
Restoration of range of movement

A lot of clients are walking in once their body is already shouting at them. Acute pain. Restricted movement. Tight, guarded tissue that has been building for weeks or months.

Let this be your reminder; if something feels off, address it early. It is far easier to restore function than to unwind a full flare up.

Bookings for next week are open online, head to claridgenaturopathics.com.au

Water intake is one of the most underrated foundations of health.
Every cell, every biochemical reaction, detoxification pathway, and muscle contraction depends on it.

If you’re feeling fatigued, foggy, headachy, constipated or crampy; don’t overlook the basics.

Hydration isn’t just about “drinking more water.”
It’s about consistent intake across the day, with proper mineral balance to support absorption.

Simple habits. Big impact.

Are you feeling scattered or overwhelmed?

We talk about detoxing the body often yet it’s important to remember our minds need it too.

Screens, poor sleep, and processed foods all inflame the brain, making it harder to focus and stay calm.

Lifestyle changes matter, but sometimes we need more than good intentions. In clinic I often use targeted nervous system support and practical strategies that help you feel calmer, clearer and more in control.

Appointments are fully booked tomorrow yet there is some availability Tuesday - Thursday. Bookings are available online, link in bio.
Or please call the Claridge Naturopathics team on (03) 5221 8220
Look forward to supporting you in clinic, Matt.

It’s officially week — the countdown is on 🏁

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing tips, reminders, and insights to help you prepare both physically and mentally for Sunday’s Half Marathon.

This week is about more than just logging the last few easy kilometres — it’s about supporting your body with recovery, hydration, mindset, and the right fuel so you can show up on the start line feeling strong.

If you’re running, I’m cheering you on every step of the way.
If you’re supporting someone who is — tag them to follow along.

Let’s make this your smoothest race week yet.

Training plans are important — but real performance demands more.
If digestion, metabolic health, sleep, and nervous system recovery aren’t right, no amount of gym work will compensate long-term.

I work with men who want to perform better, recover faster, and build true resilience — not just fitness.

Blame my wife. A photo from the archives of me playing football. Now that I have your attention though I have an important message to share around hydration.

Performance isn’t just about strength or endurance — it’s about system efficiency.
And hydration plays a bigger role than most people realise.

Even mild dehydration can:
🔹 Decrease muscle function
🔹 Slow reaction times
🔹 Impair recovery after training
🔹 Increase risk of soft tissue injuries

Water balance affects cellular energy production, joint lubrication, electrolyte levels, and thermoregulation — all critical for performance and resilience.

If you’re noticing slower recovery, increased fatigue, or cramping after sessions, hydration strategy is one of the first places I check.

Simple upgrades:
✅ Start the day with electrolytes, not just water
✅ Pre-hydrate before longer sessions
✅ Replenish properly post-training (especially after heavy sweat sessions)

I work with athletes and active clients to optimise performance systems — including the basics that drive real results over time.

🧩 Bookings open for performance-focused consults this month.

Here’s what I recommend focusing on this week:

🥗 Reset meals and movement (consistent timing, gentle exercise)
🧠 Rebuild nervous system calm (structured breathwork, magnesium-rich foods)
🔧 Realign muscle tension (targeted stretching, bodywork if needed)

Personally, I find a short yin yoga session a great way to help the nervous system settle and movement patterns release.
Comment “yes please” if you’d like me to flick through one of my favourite sessions you can do from home.

🧩 Appointments for structured support are also open — link in bio.

After the Easter break, school holidays, and long weekends a lot of people tell me:

“I just can’t seem to get back into gear.”
“My sleep’s off. My digestion’s sluggish. And I’m exhausted again.”

Even if the holidays were positive — family time, travel, a change of scenery — your system still takes the impact.
Late nights, extra sugar, overstimulation, or loss of structure all create stress on the body.

And when that happens, everything else feels harder.

At Claridge Naturopathics, I work with clients to:
🔹 Restore physical performance
🔹 Rebuild energy systems
🔹 Reset a dysregulated nervous system

A proper post-holiday reset isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about restoring the systems that drive energy, focus, sleep, and resilience.

Some last minute appointments are available tomorrow afternoon or one rare Saturday appointment remaining this week.

𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪, 𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟?

Your body is always sending you messages. These are the alarm bells that alert you when your health may be beginning to waiver.

One such alarm bell is the loss or thinning of your hair.

Hair is not there just to make you look good it plays many vital roles in your health including:

•Protection – from the environment e.g. pollution, infection and sun exposure
•Thermal regulation – to keep us warm in winter and cool in summer
•Sensory input – which allows us to detect things which may help or hinder our health
•Production- of numerous health promoting chemicals including vitamin D, melatonin and sebum
•Elimination- Many metabolic waste products are removed from our bodies via sweat

What is your body telling you when your hair begins to thin or fall out?

•Do you have increased inflammation?
•Are you nutrient deficient?
•Is your body stressed by the load of your life?
•Are you exposed to toxins or pollutants?
•Do you have a scalp infection?

When a fire alarm is ringing, you can deal with it in two (2) ways:

1.You could simply turn the fire alarm off without putting out the fire. You’ll have less ringing in your ears, but you will still have a fire. This is what happens when you only deal with the signs and symptoms of hair loss without pursuing its cause.
2.When you understand the ‘WHY’ behind your hair loss, you can now not only achieve relief but also break the cycle of the problem.

How do we help you find the ‘WHY’ behind your hair loss?

1.We send off for a comprehensive blood tests prior to your first consult to test for key causative markers which could include hormonal imbalances and nutrient deficiencies.
2.In our first consult we will take a detailed case history to identify your unique reasons that underly your hair loss. We will then give you detailed personal nutritional, herbal and lifestyle strategies’ that best address your needs.
3.Finally, at the 12 week mark we will follow up with a re-test of your blood markers and subsequent maintenance advice.

If you are suffering from hair loss or thinning hair and would like some help, please feel free to get in contact with me at Claridge Naturopathics on (03) 5221 8220.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Matt

By spreading these important statistics, you could inspire men in your life to take charge of their health and explore holistic, preventative care—because men’s health deserves attention.

THE STATISTICS | Heart disease is the leading cause of death among Australian men.

It claims more than 10,000 lives every year—one man, every hour.

Heart disease kills more men than prostate cancer, su***de, bowel cancer, and road accidents combined. Shockingly, 4 in 5 people who die of heart disease under the age of 65 are men.

As we are getting towards the end of the AFL season in many local leagues, now is the time to really look after yourself.

Injury prevention and recovery is key to much success on the field or even the basketball courts with the end of winter season and finals fast approaching.

Come in before training Thursday or post training Friday. I look forward to seeing you in clinic.

Massage and stretching is claimable on private health cover, obviously subject to your own level of cover.
Matt.
