Physiotherapy focuses on understanding the cause of pain and restoring normal movement.

Through assessment, hands-on treatment and guided exercise, the goal is to help people recover safely and return to the activities they enjoy.

Early treatment can often lead to faster recovery and better long-term outcomes.

Did you know?

Occupational Therapy supports people in developing the skills needed for everyday living.
This can include self-care, school activities, work tasks and building independence at home and in the community.

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages to help improve practical skills, confidence and participation in daily life.

The goal is simple: helping people do the things that matter to them with greater ease and independence.

Preparing for your NDIS planning meeting?

Once your eligibility is approved, you’ll become an NDIS participant and a planning meeting will be arranged with your NDIS planner. This meeting may take place in person or over the phone.

During the meeting, your planner will want to understand:
• Your goals
• The challenges currently affecting your daily life
• The types of support that may help you achieve those goals

You’ll also discuss how your NDIS plan will be managed.

There are three main options:
Self-managed - You manage your own funding and pay providers directly.
Plan-managed -A plan manager handles invoices and payments for you.
NDIA-managed - The NDIS pays registered providers directly on your behalf.

Understanding these options can help you choose the approach that works best for your needs.

At A2Z Health Group, our team supports NDIS participants through personalised allied health services that help build independence, mobility and everyday life skills.

Water changes how your body moves.

Hydrotherapy allows people to exercise with less pressure on joints, making movement easier and more comfortable.

It can help with:

✔ Improving mobility
✔ Building strength safely
✔ Reducing joint stress
✔ Regaining confidence in movement

For many people recovering from injury, surgery or chronic pain, water can be a great starting point before returning to full land-based exercise.

At A2Z Health Group, hydrotherapy is guided by our allied health team to help support safe and structured recovery.

If you’re struggling with pain during regular exercise, hydrotherapy may be a helpful option.

Neck and shoulder pain is one of the most common issues we see in clinic.

It can develop from long hours at a desk, poor posture, training overload or everyday stress.

The good news is that most neck pain responds well to the right combination of assessment, treatment and targeted movement.

Early support can help prevent small issues from becoming long-term problems.

Hydrotherapy uses the natural support of water to make movement easier and more comfortable.

The buoyancy of water reduces pressure on joints while still allowing muscles to work, making it a great option for people recovering from injury, surgery or managing ongoing pain.

Many people find they can move more freely in water, helping to rebuild strength, improve mobility and regain confidence in movement.

Rehabilitation isn’t a single appointment.

It’s a structured process.

While hands-on treatment can relieve symptoms, long-term improvement comes from:
• Accurate assessment
• A clear, progressive plan
• Gradual load exposure
• Ongoing review
• Prevention strategies

The aim isn’t short-term relief.

It’s building resilience so the issue doesn’t keep returning.

If you’ve been relying on one-off treatments, it may be time for a more structured approach.

Clinical Pilates is more than a fitness trend.

In a physiotherapy setting, it’s a structured, evidence-based rehabilitation tool used to support recovery from a wide range of conditions.

It’s commonly used to help manage:
• Musculoskeletal injuries
• Chronic back and neck pain
• Whiplash
• Post-surgical rehabilitation
• Neurological conditions such as stroke
• Complex conditions including post polio syndrome and spina bifida

Unlike general studio classes, Clinical Pilates is individually tailored and guided by a trained physiotherapist. Exercises are modified to suit your condition, stage of recovery and goals.

The focus isn’t just strength - it’s control, stability, alignment and long-term function.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent pain or recovering from injury, Clinical Pilates may be a valuable part of your plan.

Shoulder pain at the gym is common - but it’s rarely something you need to “push through.”
With the right assessment and a structured plan, most training-related shoulder pain improves quickly.

Early guidance means faster recovery and reduced re-injury risk.
If something’s been lingering, now is a good time to address it properly.

We see a high number of running-related injuries in clinic.

Common presentations include:
• Patellofemoral knee pain
• Achilles tendinopathy
• Shin splints
• Hip overload

Most are not structural damage - they’re load management issues.

Through assessment, strength testing and progressive rehabilitation, we help runners return confidently and reduce re-injury risk.

If pain has become part of your routine, it doesn’t have to be.

Injury Recovery Isn’t Just About Rest
Rest is important in the acute phase.

But prolonged avoidance often leads to:
• Loss of strength
• Increased stiffness
• Reduced joint support
• Slower recovery

The right movement, introduced at the right time, helps tissue adapt and heal properly.

Rehabilitation isn’t about pushing through pain.

It’s about progressing safely and rebuilding capacity.

If something hasn’t improved after weeks of resting, it may need structured guidance.

Saving this could shorten your recovery.
