Ensuring sufficient glutathione production is one of the most powerful ways you can improve your health.

You may have heard of a substance called glutathione. It is an extremely powerful antioxidant and in fact has been called “the mother of all antioxidants”. The good news is glutathione is produced in your own body; the bad news is many people don’t produce enough of it.

Glutathione is a very hard working molecule. It helps to mop up free radicals produced from exposure to air pollution, toxic chemicals, heavy metals and processed foods, as well as free radicals generated as a result of regular metabolic processes. If those free radicals are left to their own devices in your body, they speed up your rate of ageing by causing oxidative damage to your organs and tissues.

4 Ways to raise Glutathione and improve your health

1. Ensure you consume plenty of sulfur
2. Make sure there is plenty of selenium in your diet
3. Try to get some regular exercise
4. Make sure you get plenty of methylation nutrients in your diet

Energise Yourself!

Lost Your ‘Get Up and Go?

Most people have experienced low energy or fatigue at some point in their lives. After juggling home, work and family life, it’s no wonder there is little energy left for yourself! Anyone can feel tired at the end of the day, but ongoing fatigue can sneak up on you and become your ‘new normal’ – even though it’s not normal to be tired all the time. Persistent fatigue can often be misunderstood, as diagnostic procedures (such as blood tests) may not show any imbalance within your body. If you have persistent fatigue, don’t accept this as normal.

Want To Be Bursting with Energy?

Energising yourself also means creating a diet and lifestyle that supports your energy stores: Eat foods rich in unrefined and unprocessed carbohydrates, protein and fat; the primary ingredients for energy production. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine, which can drain your energy and deplete vitalising nutrients including your B vitamins. Sleep for seven to nine hours each night. Destress by spending time in nature, meditating and having fun! Being busy and feeling stressed places increased pressure on your mitochondria. Exercise four to five times per week. Exercise stimulates your body to make new mitochondria, resulting in more energy! When feeling very fatigued, go for a regular walk, swim or yoga class which will be beneficial for your energy levels than staying sedentary.

Time to Rediscover Your Spark

Free yourself from fatigue! If you’re ready to be energised, talk to your Practitioner today about The Energy Program and the necessary nutrients to create more energy, and how to investigate the factors that could be driving your fatigue. Providing a strong foundation for energy production will set you on the path to a refreshed and re-energised you.

Day of determination
June 1, Sunday

Resoluteness Day is a symbolic holiday that can be interpreted as a day dedicated to making decisive decisions, demonstrating confidence and courage in action. Although this day is not an official international holiday, the idea behind it can be a motivating factor for people who want to develop determination and firmness in achieving goals.

Making decisions. This day can be dedicated to finally taking those steps that have been postponed for a long time. This can concern both personal decisions (changing jobs, starting a project) and small everyday choices.

Overcoming fear and doubt. Determination helps to overcome internal barriers, such as fear of failure or self-doubt. On this day, you can focus on casting aside doubts and concentrating on achieving goals.

Perseverance. Resoluteness also includes the ability not to give up at the first failures. This day can inspire you to develop persistence and resilience in difficult situations.

How to celebrate Resoluteness Day
Set a goal and take action. One of the best ways to celebrate this day is to make an important decision that you have been putting off for a long time and start moving towards its implementation.

Making small decisions. If you cannot take a big step, you can dedicate this day to making small but decisive decisions - for example, trying something new or changing your usual approach to tasks.

Reflecting on your goals. This day can also be a moment to analyze your life goals and develop an action plan to achieve them. The main thing is not to be afraid to make choices and be confident in your decisions.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." Thomas Edison.

HEALTHY HOT CROSS BUFFINS (Recipe by Well Nourished)

Ingredients
200 g wholemeal spelt flour (1½ cups) or if you'd prefer, white spelt will give a more commercial result
125 ml milk (½ cup)
85 g rice malt syrup, honey or maple syrup (¼ cup)
60 g butter, ghee or macadamia oil (¼ cup) melted
1 free-range or organic egg/s
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp mixed spice -or allspice
½ tsp vanilla -powder, extract or essence
80 g currants (½ cup) or sultanas or raisins (or a mixture) preferably preservative and vegetable oil free
For the glaze (optional)
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp rice malt syrup, honey or maple syrup
1 tsp water
Apple crosses

1 apple/s -julienne (personally, I’m too lazy for crosses as they don’t improve the flavour at all). My recipe testers mum suggested cutting strips of apple for the crosses which I absolutely love and it tastes better too. Your call!
Method
Preheat your oven to 160℃/320℉ (fan-forced).

Place your flour in a big bowl and make a well in the middle.

In a blender, food processor or by hand, beat your milk, sweetener, butter, egg, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, acid, cinnamon, mixed spice and vanilla for about a minute until well combined and a little frothy (Thermomix melt your butter, 1 minute, temp 80, speed 4, then add the milk, sweetener, egg, rising agents, spices and mix 1 min, speed 5).

Gently mix in your dried fruit (Thermomix reverse blade, 10 seconds, speed 2).

Add this to the flour and fold through gently until just combined. Don’t over mix it.

For the crosses, mix 2 tablespoons of flour with enough water to form a dough. Roll it into little sausages to lay over the buns in a cross. This is a great job for the kids.

Alternatively, julienne apple to make quick, easy, delicious crosses.

Spoon into the muffin cases and place your cross.

For the glaze, mix all ingredients together.

Bake for 15 minutes or until cooked through (firm to touch in the middle). Brush over the glaze whilst hot.

Enjoy hot out of the oven or to reheat, toasted in a sandwich press
