This week, Dr Robinson performed Noosa Hospital’s first Motec total wrist replacement — a significant milestone for advanced orthopaedic care in our region.
The Motec wrist replacement was developed in Europe (Sweden) and has since evolved into a well-established, motion-preserving solution for advanced wrist arthritis. Over time, it has been increasingly adopted in major metropolitan centres across Australia as an alternative to wrist fusion for suitable patients.
🌏 What this means for patients:
People in our region no longer need to travel to capital cities to access world-class wrist joint replacement surgery. State-of-the-art care is now available locally in Noosa.

This week we’ve welcomed Jas for work experience! Jas is the daughter of our Practice Manager, Luise, and she’s had a full week — helping with admin, watching the fracture clinic in action, even being a patient herself for a casting demo!
She also very importantly helped make our rooms festive for Christmas. 🎄✨

Dr Mark Robinson had the pleasure of hosting esteemed American Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr James Wright on 11 November. Dr Wright is a highly respected orthopaedic surgeon based in Gainesville, Florida, specialising in complex shoulder and elbow surgery.

Dr Wright joined Dr Robinson in theatre to observe shoulder replacement surgery and share insights on best-practice techniques.

Dr Mark Robinson recently attended an advanced Rotator Cuff Immersive Lab in Sydney, joining two world-renowned orthopaedic surgeons — Dr Alan Hirahara (USA) and Dr Adam Durrant (NZ).

This hands-on training focused on the latest innovations in rotator cuff repair, including advanced arthroscopic techniques, biologic augmentation, and surgical technology designed to improve recovery and outcomes for patients.
