Kambium Wellbeing

Kambium Wellbeing I use art therapy techniques to guide a gentle yet transformative inner journey. We can meet online so there’s no travel time or parking challenges.

My approach is client-centred creative processes, which supports deeper self-understanding, reduces stress and improved wellbeing.

For many cultures, this is the true beginning .. a fresh cycle guided by the moon, the elements and intentional renewal.

While January often feels rushed and practical, Lunar New Year carries a different energy. It invites reflection, release and a conscious stepping forward.

A reminder that you don’t have to bloom on the world’s timeline.
You can begin again when it feels aligned.

Here’s to new cycles, fresh intention, and growth that unfolds naturally. 🌙🔥

Something beautiful is unfolding behind the scenes… ✨

Today we tested the hammocks — tuning into the feel, the flow and the possibilities.

I can’t wait to share what’s coming.

Co-regulation is something many people are doing every day… without even realising it.

At its heart, co-regulation is the process of one calm nervous system supporting another.

Before children can regulate themselves, they need to borrow the steadiness of a safe adult.

It might look like:

• your calm voice during their storm
• sitting beside them while big feelings move through
• slowing your breathing so theirs can follow
• staying present instead of reacting
• offering safety before solutions

Co-regulation is not “giving in.”
It is not creating dependency.

It is how the brain learns safety.

Over time, repeated experiences of being soothed and supported help wire a child’s nervous system for self-regulation.

First we co-regulate.
Then they internalise it.

And this doesn’t just apply to children , adults need co-regulation too.

We are not designed to do hard things alone.

“A regulated adult is the most powerful regulation tool a child has.”

I’m sharing a short teaser for a new offering that will be introduced at Kambium Wellbeing in the coming weeks.

These floating sound bath sessions are designed as a calm, supportive experience in small groups. This will initially be offered within my existing community as a come and try and then launch week I’ll offer a discounted rate.

Thank you for taking a moment to watch, like and share.

In a few weeks, I’ll be introducing aerial crystal soundbath experiences within small, intimate groups.
This offering is deeply restorative—supporting nervous system regulation, relaxation and a sense of being held, both physically and emotionally.

First days can be a lot on little nervous systems.
Preparing for today’s session we slowed it down, noticed the courage and honoured the effort.

Starting a new school year can bring a mix of excitement and nerves for many children and that’s completely normal.

A few gentle ways you can support your child during this transition might look like..

Having open conversations about their hopes, worries and expectations for the year ahead.
Reassuring them that feeling anxious/worried before returning to school is a common and understandable experience.
Preparing uniforms, bags, hats and lunchboxes ahead of time, involving children of all ages can help build a sense of readiness and control.

Your involvement plays an important role in supporting your child’s learning and emotional wellbeing.

Our nervous system is the quiet conductor behind how we think, feel, move and respond to the world. When life feels overwhelming, it’s often because our system is stuck in “go, go, go” mode our stress response.

You might have heard of fight or flight, that’s our sympathetic nervous system, the part that speeds us up when something feels hard or threatening.

We also have another equally important state: rest and digest, which is the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the part of us that slows things down, supports digestion, lowers our heart rate and allows the body to repair, restore and reset.

Think of it like a car..
The stress response is the accelerator

The parasympathetic system is the brake

The more time we spend in this calmer state, the more resilient, balanced and emotionally steady we tend to feel.

The beautiful thing is, we can gently invite our body back into safety and calm through simple, everyday practices:
🌿 Slow breathing, meditation or prayer
🌿 Gentle affirmations and gratitude
🌿 Humming or singing
🌿 Even soft touch, like gently rubbing your lips

These small, nurturing actions send a powerful message to your nervous system that you are safe. And when the body feels safe, many things becomes possible.

This is the work I love weaving into art therapy, helping the nervous system soften, settle and find its way back to balance.

People often think “dysregulated” means someone is being difficult, defiant, or dramatic.

In reality, dysregulated means the nervous system is overwhelmed.

It can look like:
• big emotions
• shutdown or withdrawal
• meltdowns or tears
• anger or panic
• going quiet or going rigid
• not being able to think clearly or talk things through

When someone is dysregulated, they are not choosing their behaviour, their body is in survival mode.

In that state:
🧠 Logic goes offline
💬 Words are hard to find
🤍 The body is trying to feel safe again

What helps isn’t consequences. It’s regulation.
• calm presence
• safety
• reduced demands
• time
• connection
• co-regulation before self-regulation

This is true for children, teenagers… and adults too.

Behaviour isn’t the problem.
The nervous system is asking for support.

After a nature-based session today, I got home and realised I’d walked through forget-me-nots — their tiny marks still clinging to my pants. It felt like the perfect metaphor. Nature doesn’t just support us while we’re in it… it leaves something with us. Sometimes that’s visible, sometimes it’s emotional. A soft shift in the nervous system, a sense of being more grounded, more human, more here. 🌿

As 2025 draws to a close, I find myself pausing with deep gratitude for the journey we’ve shared this year.

This community has once again reminded me of the power of connection, creativity and compassion. Every conversation, every moment of courage, every step taken toward healing and self-understanding has added depth and meaning to the year gone by. Together, we’ve created space for growth, reflection and gentle transformation.

In a world that often moves too fast, it’s been an honour to witness people slow down, tune in and choose themselves. Whether our connection has been in-person, online, through art, conversation, or quiet moments of insight, each interaction has mattered.

As we step into 2026, may we carry forward what truly serves us — authenticity, curiosity, kindness and the belief that change is always possible. May the year ahead hold room for rest, creativity and continued blooming, even after challenge.

Thank you for trusting me, walking alongside this work and being part of a community that values healing, humanity and hope.

Wishing you a New Year filled with clarity, connection, and meaningful new beginnings
