What should you be eating for breakfast?
A balanced healthy breakfast should include a good mix of protein, fats and some carbs. Majority of people aren’t eating enough protein at breakfast.
Having a protein rich breakfast ensures a balanced, stable blood sugar level, makes you feel fuller for longer, sustains energy levels and prevents those afternoon sugar binges.
Commercial cereals such a Weet-bix, Rice Bubbles, Cornflakes or All bran etc do not contain enough protein or fats and are heavily processed.
Good breakfast options include:
〰️ Eggs with spinach leaves, tomatoes and avocado on sourdough toast.
〰️ Protein smoothie with a handful of berries, handful of spinach leaves, 1 tbsp of nut butter, 1 tbsp of yoghurt, protein and milk of your choice.
〰️ Granola or muesli with yoghurt and berries.
〰️ Protein pancakes with yoghurt and fruit.
〰️ Overnight oats or Bircher muesli with nuts, seeds, served with yoghurt and berries.
