WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

The Freo Fire Fund is held by the Fremantle Foundation as a separate Named Fund and funds raised will be distributed to not-for-profit organisations which have been identified as doing one or more in the following focus areas

· Emergency assistance to people who have been displaced or impacted by bushfire

· Care for wildlife affected by bushfire

· Help people who have lost homes and property in the fires to rebuild their lives

· Support to Volunteer Fire Brigades in affected areas

· Work to reduce fire risk in fire-prone areas or prevent or deal with bushfires

A list of recommended organisations is available for community fundraisers and registered activities can nominate a specific focus area/s they wish to donate to. This list will be updated regularly in response to community needs. The list will be available on the website but should you require a copy prior please email freofirefund@gmail.com.

A recent study looked at 1049 people and reported that “70% of adults and 30% of teens reported that their use of electronic devices like smart phones, tablets and laptop computers had caused neck, shoulder, wrist or finger pain,”

One study measured the weight of the head as it moved forward beyond the lateral posture line. It was found that, in a neutral position, the average human head weights 10-12 pounds (4.5-5.5 kilograms). However, as the head moves forward, this weight increases drastically [5].

At 15 degrees, the head weighs 27 pounds (12.3 kilograms)
At 30 degrees, it increases to 40 pounds (18.2 kilograms)
At 45 degrees, it weighs 49 pounds (22.3 kilograms)
At 60 degrees, it exerts a force of 60 pounds on the cervical spine. (27.3 kilograms)
At 90 degrees the force could not be measured.
The excess stress this can create for the anterior cervical spine, especially over the course of years, should be quite concerning. No longer is forward head posture simply an issue for the elderly. It is presenting earlier and earlier in life.

Chiropractic is a powerful tool to help alleviate physical and emotional tension and the changes I see here in the clinic inspire me to serve those who want to improve themselves and their lives so that they can go on to be a positive influence for the people in their own lives
In this way it's my intention to create a positive ripple effect here in my community that extends outwards
