πŸ“šβœ¨ What the Connected Kids team are reading right now…

We’re always learning, growing, and finding new ways to support kids and families. Here’s a peek at some of the books on our reading pile this month:

🌟 Hey Awesome, Ups and Downs, But We’re Not Lions – Karen Young
🌟 The Brain Forest – Sandhya Menon
🌟 Smart but Scattered – Peg Dawson & Richard Guare
🌟 The Explosive Child – Ross Greene
🌟 The Explosive Child Workbook – Gordon Alex
🌟 Unmasking Millie & Managing Millie – Millie Carr

From playful picture books to practical guides for parents and therapists, we love diving into resources that help us better understand and celebrate the kids we work with πŸ’›

🧠✨ Looking for ways to support your child’s executive functioning skills β€” without the power struggles?

We love this article by OT4ADHD on using declarative language to help children with ADHD (and neurodivergent kids more broadly) develop independence, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.

Instead of telling kids what to do, declarative language models thinking aloud, encourages reflection, and builds confidence πŸ’¬πŸ™Œ

A great read for parents, educators, and therapists alike!

Unlock the potential of children with ADHD by breaking free from disruptive and counterproductive constant prompting. Discover the power of declarative language in fostering executive function skills.
