Today, we recognise International Day of People with Disability — a day that reminds us why inclusion, understanding and access matter.

This year’s theme, Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress, calls on all of us to build communities where people of all abilities feel respected, welcomed and supported.

At MTM, we see the impact of inclusion every week — in the friendships formed, the small wins, the shared laughs and the moments of courage our Mates show.

We’re proud to be part of a community shaped by motivated Mates, Families and Progress Facilitators who bring kindness, strength and honesty into the space.

Asking “Are you OK?” doesn’t need the perfect words. Just care, patience, and time. If someone isn’t ready to talk, that’s okay too. What matters most is showing up and letting them know you care. 💙

🙌 To all the dads, father figures, mentors, and role models in our community. Thank you for the love, guidance, and support you bring into the lives around you.

We also hold space today for those who find Father’s Day difficult. Whether through loss, distance, or complicated relationships. You are seen, heard, and valued.

At Mates That Matter, we believe family takes many shapes. What matters most are the connections we share, the encouragement we give, and the moments that remind us we’re not alone.

Every event, post, message, and moment at MTM is backed by a team who genuinely cares.

We come from different walks of life. Some of us are planners, some creatives, others behind-the-scenes organizers. But we all believe in the same thing: that no one should have to go through life feeling isolated or left out.

For Dan, it started with a small group of mates who just wanted real connection. For Oliver, it’s about building structure and consistency in every experience. Hoyt brings creativity and care into event design, while Jem makes sure our community always feels supported and heard. Marianne keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, and Mc captures the heart of it all through stories, media, and content that reflect the real spirit of MTM.

We're here to make this space feel safe, welcoming, and real for every participant, every family, and every supporter who’s part of this journey.

🎉 TRIVIA NIGHT WRAP-UP 🎉
Last week, we teamed up with Hillside Hotel to host one of our biggest and best events yet – and the energy was next level. With a massive turnout from the MTM community, the night was filled with laughs, friendly rivalry, and plenty of brain-bending trivia.

The venue? Spacious, modern and absolutely perfect for our crew. ’s team went above and beyond – from delicious food to flawless service – making everyone feel welcomed and looked after from start to finish.

Shoutout to the Blue Team, who clinched the win by just one point in a nail-biting finish 🔥💙

A huge thank you to Hillside Hotel for partnering with us and bringing this experience to life. We can’t wait to do it again. Until next time, legends! 🙌

Sunday was all about good company, ocean views, and laid-back vibes as we tackled the stunning Maroubra to Malabar loop. The weather was perfect, the scenery was unreal, and the pace was nice and relaxed—just the way we like it. 🏞️

After soaking in the coastline and plenty of laughs along the way, we wrapped things up with a BBQ feast that hit the spot. Nothing beats good food and even better mates to end the day!

Big thanks to everyone who came along—such a chill, memorable day. Can’t wait for the next adventure! 🙌
