It is important when providing home care that every function is integrated together to provide a seamless experience. Support workers, allied health teams and care partners should be working together, not in silos.
By having an integrated care system, it helps reduce risks, improves communication and supports better long-term outcomes at home.

Our team at Pinq Care works together with various providers and care teams to ensure positive outcomes for participants with less stress.

Are you currently waiting on Support at Home funding?
It can feel frustrating and overwhelming however, there are things you can do in the meantime to ensure you are fully prepared and ready to go once you receive your package.

• Start gathering medical documents
• Review safety risks at home
• Consider short-term private support if needed
• Have early conversations about goals

Being prepared means that the transition will be smoother once funding is approved.

“I don’t want to be a burden on my kids.”

It’s something we hear often, even when families are more than willing to help.
When you start to feel less mobile and more exhausted doing things that were once easy, it is natural to be concerned about the impact on others. This is why Support at Home exists. It isn't about replacing family, it works alongside to help reduce pressure and preserve dignity for all involved.

Home care funding can feel confusing and overwhelming.
If you are looking into support at home, we can help you navigate the types of support you would receive at certain levels.

Here’s what a Level 1 or 2 package might include:
• Dedicated care partner
• Light domestic assistance around the home
• Transportation to and from appointments
• Allied health support

Each level has different funding provided from the Australian Government, which can be overwhelming to navigate how much you have to contribute. For a fully detailed price guide, visit our website via the link in our bio.

Ending up in the hospital is never a positive experience, especially when strength declines, movement slows and confidence in your own abilities drops.

That’s why we include an OT or physiotherapy assessment early in our care planning. We're not there to take over, but to understand mobility and safety before small setbacks become bigger ones.

Care feels different when you recognise the person walking through your door.

Familiar faces build trust.
They reduce anxiety.
They notice small changes early.
They provide a sense of familiarity and comfort.

This is why we make sure that every participant is cared for by one care partner. They take care of everything, providing comfort and reliability, because consistency isn't a luxury, it's woven into quality care.

Falls are one of the most common reasons Australians over 65 end up in hospital.

It is not usually caused by one specific instance, rather being gradual changes in balance and strength over time. The way to combat this is to make small improvements in daily routines, which will make a meaningful difference to how safe someone feels at home.

These improvements could include:
- Strength training to improve muscle mass and prevent frailty (this could be with weights or items around the house)
- Balance and coordination exercises
- Regular movement throughout the day to prevent tense muscles

If you are noticing frailty at home, please reach out to us for a chat and we can help to organise support to get you back on your feet.

It often starts small.

A fall in the bathroom.
A hospital stay that takes longer to recover from than expected.
Forgetting things more often than usual.
Having difficulty with basic tasks that were once quite easy

These are early signs that you may need more support at home. Most families don't plan for these things, it is usually brought on by events like these that trigger a response to act quickly.

Make sure you are looking out for these things, and if you think you are ready to take the next step towards in-home care, reach out to us.

Today is International Women's Day, a time to acknowledge the important impact women have on our society. This year’s theme, Give to Gain, encourages us to give generously to our communities so that opportunities for women can continue to grow. There are many ways to contribute to women’s advancement, including sharing knowledge, mentoring, advocacy, education and practical support. These actions, when taken consistently, help create a more supportive and connected world.

At Pinq Care, we are grateful for the talented women who dedicate their days to making the lives of older Australians easier. We want to say thank you for the care, leadership and expertise that you bring every day. Your impact reaches far and wide across the families in our community. We are committed to continuing to create an environment where women feel supported, valued and able to grow.
