The festivities have begun! 🎄

We kicked off our 12 Days of San Christmas with our much-loved BBQ with the Boss. It’s a wonderful way to start the celebrations, bringing teams from across the hospital together to share lunch, connect and enjoy some festive cheer. Over the next 11 days, our staff will be treated to a gift each day, all leading up to our annual Carols at the San ✨

Each year, our San Gifts team donates all profits back to the hospital, and this year they proudly presented a $55,000 cheque to our CEO, Brett Goods.

These annual contributions make a real impact, helping fund essential equipment for our patients and staff. Last year’s donation supported the purchase of our new patient transport chairs, showing how their generosity directly strengthens our care.

The morning tea also celebrated our incredible Volunteers, who contributed more than 30,000 hours to the hospital in 2025.

This week, our Cancer Services Team is raising awareness of Upper GI cancers and the important support available to patients and families. To get everyone involved, our staff are taking part in a fun Upper GI–themed spelling bee, testing their knowledge with some tricky medical terminology 🐝

This week also highlights the incredible work of Christine, our Upper GI Patient Navigator, who provides expert guidance and compassionate care throughout the patient journey.

Congratulations to our GI MDT, who celebrated 20 years of collaboration and patient-centred care 🎉

The team has been meeting since 2005, making the GI MDT the second multidisciplinary meeting established at the San. Since then, the program has expanded significantly and now includes 11 specialty MDTs across the hospital.

For 20 years, the GI MDT has been guided by the dedication and expertise of its members. We are truly grateful for their unwavering commitment and the compassionate care they provide to every patient.

From 5:00pm on Sunday, 14 December, come together on the Village Green at Sydney Adventist Hospital for an evening of festive fun.

Kick off the night with kids’ activities, Santa and San Bear photos, with plenty to enjoy before both the Kids' Concert and the Main Carols Concert, finishing with our spectacular fireworks display.

This week, we celebrated the incredible work of our Perioperative Nurses!

Our STARS are the teams who keep our surgical services running smoothly and include:

⭐ Scrub nurses
⭐ Theatre techs
⭐ Anaesthetic nurses
⭐ Recovery nurses
⭐ Support staff

The week featured their annual Bake-Off competition, a fun Kim Guard fashion show, GLUE award presentations and a series of morning teas.
