Anyone interested in doing Tracheostomy Care training? Great PD especially as last year there is only one trachey child going to school in Perth. This could change if more school nurses were trained. It's one day face to face. Let me know if you are interested as minimal numbers are needed.

Education on safe tracheostomy care for clients. Non-accredited course for healthcare workers

Primary school leaders will relate to the recent NewsCorp article about medication management in schools. ‘A child has already died’: Fears over school diabetes care.’
Across Australia, principals are reporting a sharp rise in the volume and complexity of student medications being managed during the school day, from ADHD medication to insulin and emergency treatments for chronic conditions.
The challenge is this: most primary schools do not have a nurse on site, yet principals, teachers and office staff are increasingly being asked to administer high-risk medications, often without consistent training, staffing support or dedicated funding.
This is not sustainable.
Schools are committed to supporting children’s health needs, but schools should not be expected to run mini-clinics. This is about student safety, staff wellbeing, and protecting the core work of teaching and learning.
APPA is calling for dedicated funding and access to trained health professionals to support medication management in primary schools.
