This is truly inspiring and shows age can be just a number 😊

Meet Margaret Johnson, a remarkable 100-year-old athlete from Denver, Colorado, who is showing the world that it’s never too late to chase your dreams!

Margaret laced up her running shoes for the first time at 70, proving that passion and determination have no expiration date. Now, at 100, she continues to defy expectations, inspiring countless people with her resilience.

On September 5, at a national senior sports competition, she shattered two records, becoming the fastest woman in her age group.

Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the limitless potential within us all!

This study concludes that getting up from sitting for just an extra 20 minutes a day, can have a big improvement in how we age. Very achievable I say! :-)

Recent scientific studies are showing a link between mind health and cardiovascular (heart and blood vessels) health.
The research also suggests big benefits with mindfulness practices for heart health. This great article looks at ways to implement meditation and other mindfulness techniques for this purpose. I particularly like the section on 'moving meditation' - as someone who finds it hard to sit still for too long, a moving meditation is a great option! :-)

Is there such a thing as the Fountain of Youth? If so, it hasn't been found yet.
But (yes, there is a but!)...... there are places in the world where the majority of people do seem to live both longer and healthier lives. These places are known as the 'Blue Zones', and include Okinawa (Japan); Sardinia (Italy); Nicoya (Costa Rica); Icaria (Greece) and among the Seventh-day Adventists in an area of California (USA).
Looking at the way people live in these areas may help provide clues on how to slow the ageing process .

Another home run for regular exercise, this time in maintaining brain health as we age. This study reviewed 14 clinical trials looking at the effects on the brain of regular aerobic exercise including walking, jogging on a treadmill and cycling. The results were positive and showed that regular exercise appears to slow down brain deterioration with age (and so help maintain memory and brain function). That's definitely motivation to pop on the sports shoes and get moving! :-)

This interesting study has found that even small babies can show signs of stress on seeing images of these critters - before having had any personal bad experiences with them.....
