Sleighing the door decorating game at DLi Head Office this Christmas, proof that festive spirit really does start at the door! 🎄✨

Our teams understood the brief and stepped it up a notch this year, bringing staff together for plenty of laughs, creativity and connection…one team even created a door when they didn’t have one! 💡🚪

A reminder that supports for our clients continue throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Head office will be operating with reduced staff during this time.

This morning, we gathered for morning tea to recognise International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

With perfect weather and plenty of smiles, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate inclusion, acknowledge the outstanding contributions of our diverse DLi community, and reflect on this year’s theme: Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

DLi client Mark has always dreamed of living a quiet, independent life where routine, comfort and the things he loves most could truly be his own.

From his morning ritual of breakfast and a walk to the local deli for the paper, to unwinding with FoxSports - catching everything from AFL (as a proud Crows and Carlton supporter) to the European Premier League. Mark thrives on familiarity and choice.

While he made the most of living in a shared home, Mark longed for a space where he could surround himself with the things that are important to him, be in charge of his own decisions, and choose the level of support that felt right for him.

With careful planning, Mark has now moved into a modern, light-filled house that gives him the independence he’s always wanted. He’s enjoying getting out in the community, cooking, managing daily tasks, and balancing it all with plenty of rest and relaxation.

With DLi’s support, Mark is happily settled in a house that truly feels like home.

Shaping services through lived experience

Our Client Reference Committee (CRC) plays a vital role in guiding DLi’s commitment to truly client-centred support.

Over the past year, CRC members have contributed their lived experience and insights to strengthen client engagement, communication, and service delivery. Their feedback has helped shape internal events, refine key resources and practices, and inspire new social activities based on what clients actually want.

Their ongoing contributions highlight a strong commitment to inclusion, peer voice, and ensuring clients remain at the heart of every decision we make.
