✨💜ADVANCED YOUTH DBT+MORE SKILLS GROUP✨💜

The feedback from last years cohort was truly incredible, so we wanted to bring it another whole group in 2026

Who is it for: Youth (13 - 21) on their own OR+ Mum/Sister/Aunty/Carer/Partner in our bespoke Wellness Room at The Calming Suite Psychology Clinic

Your host:
▶Dr Alissa Knight (Principal Clinical Psychologist and Owner at The Calming Suite) also BPD, Trauma and Eating Disorder Specialist. + Two other Calming Suite psychologists to help

Dr Alissa Knight holds an incredible passion and wealth of experience in the area of Complex Trauma, BPD, and ADHD, Anxiety, Depression. This group program will be highly beneficial to anyone who perhaps is battling with these disorders, and the multifaceted internal and external challenges that often are embodied in them and around them.

It is also well suited to helping parents and youth facing these issues find their voice and be able to reconnect with their parent/care giver, and feel understood, help normalise what they are going through, learn ways for both to communicate better, validate, soothe, and find harmony in their relationship again.

It will be a very safe, non-judgmental, friendly environment, and the feedback from all our youth group programs thus far has been how inviting, inclusive, friendly and validating it was to be surrounded by people who are going through something similar to them, all the while chilling on our fluffy beanbags.

🍃On Friday 13th of February two of our incredible Calming Suite psychology team members Jaclyn and Rebecca attended the ✨Neuro Nurture Conference ✨which was a beautiful celebration of all the latest research and initiatives for supporting Autistic Children and Families

Both Jaclyn and Rebecca are so fiercely passionate about, and specialise in assessment and therapy for children, teens and adults with ASD and ADHD, so this was the perfect room of neuro-affirming colleagues and minds to be surrounded by.

I know both girls said how incredible the event was, and it so great to see such growth and ideas flowing in this space.

✨✨I am so beyond excited to share that I have taken on a brand new adventure in my career as a Co-Founder | Creator of the brand new Online Platform SHAREIFY pioneered by the incredible

I have chosen to be a part of this Australian-based initiative as it offers a ground-breaking way to share highly novel, evidence-based content and resources for other health care allied health professionals to share with their clients, and the concept really spoke to me as I see the potential for how it can make such a wide reach impact.

I am someone who is obsessed with making psychology content really engaging, modern and relatable but up until now have just kept it in my Canva account. I cannot wait to start sharing this for others to also use.

In my little video I have tried to introduce myself, and I share more about why I have decided to be a Co Founder. Please excuse the two little beige squares I had to mould in the background. Not ideal. But as I was filming, I had a white fluffy ragdoll fur baby in the background doing some of his own yoga poses (quite distracting) who decided he would make an appearance 🐈☺️

SHARIFY is excitingly being launched tomorrow!!!!! And you are so more than welcome to head to the official website https://shareify.com.au/

Overtime there will be so much inspirational new resources and content from so many incredible individuals and leaders in their allied health fields. I aim to start one by one each week putting new content on there. I specialise in BPD, Trauma and Eating Disorders and I will be sharing whole 250 page novel evidence-based programs, webinars, workbooks, booklets, group programs, for early career psychologists, schools, corporate entities, psychologists and all allied health.

At The Calming Suite Psychology we Strive to do Things a Little Differently.

Our Philosophy is Based on this is "You" Centred Care

We Understand and Appreciate Everyone Walking Through our Doors is Beautifully Unique and Seeking More than simple self-care tips, mindfulness and thought building strategies.

We are fully committed to providing the most up-to-date evidence-based care for you, addressing you as a ‘whole person’, which includes identifying all the inter-related factors and layers of your Health in Holistic Wholeness (i.e., Psychological, Emotional, Physical, Social, Spiritual, Neurological, Nutritional).

We then work alongside you as you discover who you are, the strengths you have, and ways to build the life you dream of, feeling a type of health synergy (mind, body, soul) that brings joy and fulfilment.

We use an approach to health that is largely embedded in a Multi-Modal Model where we meet each and every person, learn everything about them and get right to the core of “Why” and “How” their issues started in the first place. And importantly, “What” is keeping them alive or maintaining them.

It feels deeply connected, safe, coordinated by a team of healthcare professionals who want the best for you, hear you, are guided by you, and who all work closely with one another and stay on the same page.

If you are ready to make 2026 a year that brings you holistic wellness and would like the type of support that is focused on "you", then we would love to meet you.

We have a team of Psychologists who are each specialised in areas of: BPD, Trauma, Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Autism, ADHD, Perinatal, Dance psychology, Phobias, Self-Confidence/Self-Worth, and so much more.

We also have two exceptionally talented Dietitians who are specialised in: Eating Disorders, Women's Health, Gut heath, Fertility and Hormonal health, Sports/Dance Nutrition

Feel so welcome to give our friendly team either a call or email and we will get in contact with you as soon as possible to make it all happen.

Such a beautiful start to 2026 🥰
Having The Calming Suite Psychology PTY Being accepted and certified as an Eligible Organisation for the NHMRC Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

Although I have been heavily focusing on clinical practice for the last 5 years, and setting up the small private practice, research has always been, and always will be such an incredible passion for me. My greater encompassing goal in the last 8 years has always been to continue evolving and growing, and bridge the gap between clinical practice and research.

To build and develop a much bigger facility with a wide range of health care professionals (i.e., clinical psychologists, speech pathologists, Occupational therapists, massage therapist, kinesiologists, exercise physiologists, art therapists, trauma informed yoga therapists, NDIS boxing instructors' paediatricians), all purposefully integrated to deliver a Revolutionary, Premier, Multi-modal Mental Health Wellness Hub for Children/Youth.

The goal has always been to include within our three-tier development model, a small research team to conduct empirical, low-risk, ‘Moonshot’ research on the novel, multi-modal therapeutic mental & physical health programs I have been working on for years now, and proven efficacy for within my own children/adolescents with eating disorders, BPD, ASD/ADHD and other complex mental health presentations. But to really establish empirical evidence for it on a broader population.

Being a sole owner of a private practice, I certainly do not have the financial backing like most universities to conduct research off my own back. So, this opportunity has now really opened the door to a chance to finally be able to move forward in a new chapter for the Calming Suite Psychology Team where we can foster clinical practice and research in a space that makes sense.

🎉End of Year 2025 Team Day Out at The Adelaide POLO Classic

On Friday, Our Team of 8 Calming Suite Girls ~ Kelsey, Rebecca, Jaclyn, Gabriela, Alana, Aleksandra, Felicity, and myself all dressed up a little fancy and celebrated what has been a very big year for us at The Adelaide Polo Classic, with some delicious food, drinks, electric atmosphere, and mingling with so many other wonderful groups of people all there to enjoy.

It was a day of 35 degree heat and loud speakers! but that didn't stop anyone getting on the oval, joining in on the foot stomps, games, dancing, and so many fun moments.

Gabriela flew 🛫all the way from Melbourne to join us. Jaclyn finally got her big basket of bread rolls 🥖she has been manifesting for over a year now ever since she was robbed at Sydney, and Felicity led the way in the energetic motion✨, and we all just jumped up and followed her lead 😊

We take so much pride in fostering a positive and collaborative culture at The Calming Suite, and honestly I could not be more grateful to have a team that makes it so easy! These girls are true gems🤍

I want to proudly send a gigantic congratulations 🎉to Rebecca on being recently accepted as a Registered member in the League of Autistic Psychologists and Affirming Colleagues.

Rebecca Horsnell is one of our Senior Registered Psychologists at The Calming Suite Psychology. She is extremely passionate about working as a psychologist with a key specialisation in supporting young people, adults and families with ADHD and ASD across Adelaide.

Rebecca blends her own neurodivergent (ADHDer) lived experience with professional expertise to offer affirming autism and ADHD intervention for all ages. She also works with clients diagnosed with trauma, attachment, depression, BPD and anxiety and helping clients find understanding how this overlaps with their neurodivergence.

Rebecca beautifully tailors her approach to each person individually and aims to create a safe, steady space where people feel understood, heard, validated and supported. She has unquestionable a unique gift in the way she can connect with her clients.

Well done Rebecca👏 this is an extraordinary achievement and truly resonates your fierce passion in this space and the hard work you do every day for those with neurodivergence.

Team Movie Wicked Night 👭💚💗

Wednesday Night, half of The Calming Suite Psychology girls—Jaclyn, Felicity, Alana, Rebecca and Aleks— went together to movies to see the new Wicked For Good Movie together for some delicious food and an incredible screening. The vibe was apparently incredible, and they all had a great time.

Being a psychologist/Dietitian requires utmost professionalism, attention to detail, constant effort and dedication to clients and families, and the work we do is taken very seriously. We do hear in our day of work some really heavy stuff, alongside the gorgeous wins and celebrations from our clients.

So to enable us to provide the highest quality of care each day, and manage that cup, it is vital that as a psychologist you honour and take care of your own self-care, and part of that is being able to come to work, surrounded by a beautiful team with a positive and collaborative culture, who all get along, frequently spend time together at work, but also outside of work too.

Having moments where they are also embracing fun, laughter, and exhibiting by example what the joy in life can be 🤍

As a director there is truly nothing like hearing your team laughing and chatting among each other in the lunchroom and seeing nights like this where the bond is so clear.
