A healthy relationship with food and exercise will look different on everyone. But one thing will always stay the same:

You are making food and exercise decisions based on how it makes your body feel.

➡️ It’s not about punishment or guilt. That approach is never sustainable!

➡️ The choices we make need to have a reason. That’s what makes the habits stick 🙌

Everyday will look a little different (because our energy needs vary day-by-day). So a cookie cutter program and food plan will never fully address that.

🍽️ Some days you’ll feel full and satisfied with less food. Some days you’ll need more.

🏋️‍♀️ Some days you’ll have more energy and feel like you can do a longer cardio session or more volume in your training! Other days you’ll feel like you need more rest.

Allowing for both is totally okay. It’s all part of the process of looking after your health and wellbeing 💚

If you’ve been playing along, you may have noticed we’ve moved! 🌳 Not far, only 10 minutes from our last location (and 2 minutes from the Hester Avenue freeway entry/exit).

We have big plans, but building takes a bit of time! So here are some pictures of our temporary gym/nutrition studio we have set up for use while we build our bigger space.

PS it has air conditioning as of today, but I took these photos yesterday before it got installed 😆

👩🏻‍💻Nutrition consults can take place at a table under the tree (if you’d prefer to be outside) or in our PT studio space - the choice is yours!

👷🏻‍♀️ What’s our plan? We’ll be building a big shed on our block for a combined nutrition/personal training studio AND group training space. It will have both an indoor and outdoor training space and will be in a perfect spot to take advantage of the valley views and sea breeze (which you still get wonderfully in our temporary studio spot).🍃

I will keep you updated on our transition and hope to have you along for the journey! And if you’re looking to get started, we can’t wait to welcome you to our little peaceful countryside pocket 🏋️‍♀️🌿

Taking foods out of your diet very rarely promotes a healthier lifestyle (unless you are allergic 🥜🍞)

⬇️Usually you end up with a less nutritious diet that is also very restrictive. This doesn’t benefit anyone at all 🙅‍♀️

Take the foods you currently enjoy making, look at them, and ask yourself:

- What can I ADD to this food/meal to make it more nutritious?
- Could I add some extra veggies? Some nuts?

The benefits of ADDING ➕ to your favourite foods:

1. You will add more nutrition to your day SO easily!
2. You will add more variety to your day. We often get stuck in a habit of eating the foods we know. What new foods could you try adding in?
3. You won’t have to say goodbye to the current foods you enjoy 🙌 (ps those foods are very rarely the direct problem)

There’s a fine line between exercise being a healthy outlet vs being a whole new source of stress/anxiety in your life ⚖️

Exercise is meant to support your body, not punish it 💚

Our movement shouldn’t be rigid, strict or fuelled by guilt. Instead it should feel supportive, flexible, a source of fun!

👉Exercising can be challenging, sure, but it shouldn’t be draining.

If you feel like your current exercise habits are doing harm than good - we can change that! Check in with your program or your coach. Maybe you need to take a different approach or just dial things back slightly.

One of the absolute BEST things you can do for yourself is to eat consistently 🙏

We often put ourselves, and our health on the back burner in life. We prioritise others and we put ourselves last - but its one of the worst things we can do. How can we show up with our best foot forward if we aren’t actually feeling our best?

Going to the gym/exercising can be such an intimidating thing to start 😅

But it doesn’t have to be 🏋️‍♀️

➡️ You don’t need to fit a certain criteria or be at a certain fitness level to start
➡️ You don’t need to be ‘fully committed’ to start
➡️ And you definitely don’t need to be good at it!

Striving for perfection is often what stops us ever getting started in the first place.

There is room for all of us in the health/fitness space 💚

Commenting on someone’s body gives the idea that weight (or a certain ‘look’) equates to health. This just isn’t true.

➡️ Weight loss doesn’t automatically mean someone is healthier
➡️ Weight gain doesn’t automatically mean someone is less healthy

You can’t assume someone’s health just by looking at them. Health is so much more complex than that.. it shouldn’t be reduced to a certain ‘look’.

Healthy looks different for every body. And remember, what’s going on on the outside, doesn’t tell us anything about what’s going on on the inside 💚
