✨ Supporting One of Our Own – Stars of Nowra 2026 ✨

The Shoalhaven Business Chamber is incredibly proud to support our Vice President, Crystal Brandon, as she takes part in Stars of Nowra 2026, raising vital funds for Cancer Council NSW.

Crystal is stepping onto the dance floor not just to fundraise — but to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and the importance of genetic testing following her own BRCA2 diagnosis.

Her goal is to spark important conversations in our community about early detection, family history, and proactive health choices — while raising significant funds to support the research, prevention programs and support services Cancer Council provides to families across NSW.

This is leadership beyond business. This is community.

If you would like to support Crystal and contribute to this important cause, you can donate here:

Every dollar makes a difference.

Let’s get behind her, Shoalhaven 💛

Grow Love Project

The Shoalhaven Business Chamber is proud to welcome Grow Love Project — a creative strategy and media production business built on one core belief: stories shape the future.

Founded by Susannah Kable and Edgars Greste, Grow Love Project works with purpose-led and growth-focused organisations who want more than noise — they want meaning. They help businesses clarify their message, strengthen their brand, and create media that builds trust and genuine connection.

Their work spans brand and narrative development, deep research, podcasting, video production, photography, written content and campaign storytelling. But they don’t just “produce content” — they create strategically aligned media assets that support partnerships, stakeholder engagement, marketing outcomes and long-term growth.

With over a decade of experience, Grow Love Project began in the regenerative agriculture space, telling the stories of farmers restoring soil and landscape. Their work has since expanded into the wellbeing economy, Indigenous voices, mental health and environmental protection.

During COVID, they accelerated into podcasting — recognising its power in regional communities like ours, where long drives create space for deeper engagement. Podcasts build something more valuable than reach — they build resonance.

What sets them apart is depth. Susannah brings qualifications in science, policy and communications. Edgars’ background spans journalism, anthropology and film. Together, they unpack complex issues and translate them into clear, compelling narratives.

They joined the Chamber because they believe strong regions are built through collaboration and meaningful connection.

Nowra’s UH-1B Iroquois Helicopter (Serial 894) was carefully removed from its long-standing display site in September 2023 for detailed examination and repairs. After more than 20 years exposed to the elements, and a decade since its last refurbishment, the aircraft had begun to show significant deterioration. A heritage assessment by the Royal Australian Navy’s Sea Power Centre, confirmed that helicopter was no longer suitable for public display and posed potential safety risks to the community.

Noting that military aircraft are not designed to be continuously exposed to the elements and there is certain risk that in a number of years Navy and Shoalhaven Council will be faced with similar issues to that of Iroquois 894 should it be replaced with another retired airframe, the Government have decided to replace Iroquois 894 with a fibreglass/composite replica. To all intents and purposes this replica would look just like a real airframe but have certain advantages over a retired airframe:

1. It could be designed to be mounted on a pole in an eye-catching ‘flying’ position above ground level so as not to be a safety concern for members of the public and out of reach vandals.
2. It would be weatherproof and relatively easy to clean with a pressure washer regularly.
3. It would be a far more robust and enduring solution that requires very little maintenance and wouldn’t suffer the same fate as a retired airframe that was exposed to the elements 24/7 and 365 days/year.

There are 2 choices. Both options are valid but there now exists an opportunity to refresh Nowra’s ‘Chopper on a Stick’ such that it reflects contemporary FAA operations. The FAA has operated a Seahawk variant for over 30 years and will operate the latest MH-60R Seahawk for another 30 years to come.

NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 💡

The Shoalhaven Business Chamber is delighted to welcome Booksmart Bookkeeping Solutions to our growing member community.

Led by Lori Hambridge and proudly based in Vincentia, Booksmart Bookkeeping Solutions has been supporting businesses for over 20 years with reliable, detail-driven bookkeeping and payroll services. Lori and her team provide hands-on support to help businesses stay compliant, organised and confident in their numbers — building long-term relationships grounded in clear communication and dependable service.

With decades of experience in accounting and administration, Lori founded Booksmart after recognising how overwhelmed many business owners felt about their finances and compliance obligations. Her goal was simple: to create a service that not only keeps everything accurate and compliant, but also gives clients genuine peace of mind.

Booksmart is best known for its comprehensive bookkeeping services, payroll and compliance management, and software setup and support — helping businesses streamline systems and meet their obligations with confidence. What sets them apart in the Shoalhaven is their approach: combining compliance with care, and positioning themselves as long-term financial partners rather than just service providers.

Having proudly called the Shoalhaven home since 2006, Lori values the strong sense of community and connection that makes both life and business here so rewarding.

Joining the Shoalhaven Business Chamber reflects a desire to collaborate with fellow local businesses, strengthen community ties, and remain actively engaged in the region’s vibrant business network.
