Karuna yoga is derived from the teachings of BKS Iyengar, working slowly and deliberately, using props to help students get better allignment and so enjoy the benefits of each pose. Encouraging full range of movement, and promoting strength and flexibility. Everyone is welcome and can participate as each person works to their own measure. Breathing and meditation, incorporated in each class, encourage whole self awareness, calm and mindfulness. Yoga with Dinah and Dean is light-hearted and fun. They believe in working hard, playing with the poses, focusing on each student's strengths and weaknesses, to bring balance and harmony to the whole
The influence of classical yoga from the Sivananda/Satyananda lineage has encouraged Freedom Yoga's integration of energy work into the yoga classes, as well as Omkar chanting, mantras and mudras. Yoga as a Therapy is startlingly powerful. Using gentle yoga poses, extreme relaxation and cleansing techniques, and making nutritional changes, patients of many different chronic ailments can expect massive improvements or permanent cure. Patients must be prepared to practice daily, and change their diet, in order to gain relief. Ailments include: asthma, back problems, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, thyroid problems. Yoga therapy can also support patients with HIV/Aids, cancer, eating disorders, etc. We are happy to make an initial assessment on the phone, and discuss arrangements.

"I refuse to be called a victim. I am not defined by what happened in my life. I am a survivor, defined by how I live my life."

Adrianne's journey is one of strength, determination and perseverance.

In this photograph taken at the Boston Marathon finish line, Adrianne stands as a testament to the human spirit's capacity to overcome adversity. Despite losing her leg as a spectator of the Boston Marathon, she refused to let that define her. Instead, she became a marathon runner, defying the odds and inspiring countless others along the way.
