Karuna yoga is derived from the teachings of BKS Iyengar, working slowly and deliberately, using props to help students get better allignment and so enjoy the benefits of each pose. Encouraging full range of movement, and promoting strength and flexibility. Everyone is welcome and can participate as each person works to their own measure. Breathing and meditation, incorporated in each class, encourage whole self awareness, calm and mindfulness. Yoga with Dinah and Dean is light-hearted and fun. They believe in working hard, playing with the poses, focusing on each student's strengths and weaknesses, to bring balance and harmony to the whole
The influence of classical yoga from the Sivananda/Satyananda lineage has encouraged Freedom Yoga's integration of energy work into the yoga classes, as well as Omkar chanting, mantras and mudras.
