23/12/2021
Good afternoon all,
Just a little note to say hello as we near the end of what is 2021. WOW what a year hey? We all thought 2020 was rough, but this year takes the cake I think! Wide spread, turmoil, change, fear, contradictions and trauma! Does this some it up enough?
Anyway, loss and grief have impacted many through this prolonged minefield of watching, waiting, and constant hysteria and fear. We have a society that for the most part, have been living in a prolonged state of hypervigilance which leads to mental health issues, not many of us are immune to.
Sadly, so many have tragically lost their lives this year, succumbing to the 'black dog', depression and the overwhelming, oppressive blackness that can be poor mental health. Some have died via car/motor bike accidents, some via illness and other mishaps. Loss and grief yet again, touching us all.
Loss, grief and change, are never easy, but it is one of the inevertable, hard parts of life. Learning to roll with change is key to learning to live with it, and sometimes, this means seeking support. Reaching out for help is an absolute must, as us humans are designed to heal via our social connections, collectively, in our communities of choice. You are not alone!
This is where the role of Mental Health Professional comes in! I personally have been on extended leave for 12 months, and I will sadly be needing more, due to ongoing illness, but while I am not physically present, I am still here behind the scenes. I miss you all greatly, and hope that you are all taking each day as it comes, and putting me on your shoulder, and reflecting on what tools and tricks we have discovered in our past sessions and individual journies together, to get through the day. I also hope that you are nurturing your soul, by feeding your body good nutrition, fresh air and sunshine, and doing things to make you laugh each day. After all, laughter is the best medicine! 👌
Happy festivities and may the new year bring you peace and contentment. Cheers to what 2022 will bring, we are all in it together, help is ALWAYS available.
Take care,
Kirsty
