Our Calwell residents recently took a trip down memory lane! 🚂

Our residents enjoyed a steam train ride to Bungendore, and what a perfect day it was for taking in the lovely scenery! Enjoying morning tea together, everyone had a great time on this day trip that brought back many memories. ☀️

Wedding bells were ringing at Coniston as our residents recently joined for the wedding of the year! 💍

The home hosted the wedding of Fifi and Oscar, the home’s therapy dogs, and what a fabulous celebration it was!

Complete with a wedding certificate and all, the festivities consisted of an exchange of collars, bouquet toss, a champagne toast for our residents, cake cutting, live music and karaoke - and what better song for Fifi and Oscar’s first dance than ‘Who Let the Dogs Out’? 🐶

The event certainly filled the home with a joyful atmosphere and was a morning of laughter and big smiles.

Our residents at Albion Park Rail, Warrigal Queanbeyan and Warrigal Bundanoon marked Easter with a range of activities! 🐣

Wonderful live musical entertainment - calling for some dancing, and Easter egg giving filled Warrigal Albion Park Rail this Easter. Wearing their themed accessories, over at Warrigal Queanbeyan our residents enjoyed an exciting Easter egg hunt, and on Good Friday, our Warrigal Bundanoon residents joined together to take part in a meaningful service to mark the occasion.

Virtual reality and a fabulous visit from Hephner the Alpaca has been just some of the recent fun over at Queanbeyan!

Putting on a headset, our residents swam their way through the Great Barrier Reef, rode a motorbike and went on an African safari - a wonderful virtual experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed! 🪸

Hephner also popped in to pay a visit to our very excited residents! The visit was sure to bring smiles all round, filling the home with a warm atmosphere. 🥰

There was no shortage of fun this Easter at Shell Cove and Warrigal Stirling!

Residents at Warrigal Shell Cove marked the occasion with a delicious Easter lunch and a visit from the Easter bunny, delivering some chocolate eggs. 🐰

Over at Warrigal Stirling, residents enjoyed an exciting Easter egg hunt, themed craft creating chicks together, and some friendly competition with an egg and spoon race. 🐣

According to Dementia Australia, there are an estimated 446,500 people living with dementia, and over 68% of aged care residents live with a moderate to severe cognitive impairment.

Being such an essential type of care within residential care, and when considering the needs of loved ones, it’s important to understand what Memory Support Care involves, when it’s time to access this care, and how to access this care.

Memory Support Care is specialised support provided to those living with cognitive impairments that affect memory, thinking, and behaviour.

The decision to access this care for a loved one can be challenging but it ensures that their dignity and independence can be maintained for as long as possible within a supportive and safe environment, receiving quality care from a trained team.

Party hats and party games were in place for April Fools’ Day at Mount Warrigal. 🎉

Residents and staff joined for some fun ball games, filling the home with lots of laughter and big smiles as everyone cheered each other on. This was a wonderful opportunity to come together and continue building friendships and the lovely sense of community within the home, and with prizes up for grabs, the festivities were certainly a hit!
