On Monday, our beloved Wollongong resident, Petronella, known as Nel, turned 100! 🎉

Nel marked this incredible milestone surrounded by her family, friends and fellow residents who joined for a lovely birthday celebration, complete with a beautiful cake and a special interview on the news.

Known for making a good cup of tea and always making sure the Monopoly board was set up properly when on family holidays, Nel said that it felt unbelievable to be turning 100.

Happy birthday Nel, we hope you enjoyed your special day! 💜

Meet Annette, one of our beloved Figtree villagers.

Annette is an active member within the community, having dedicated an outstanding 30 years to volunteering for NSW Police.

Recently, Annette received a Community Recognition Statement from Minister Ryan Park, acknowledging the incredible difference she makes within the community through her service as a police volunteer.

We’re so proud to have her as part of the Warrigal community. 💜

What’s not to love about Hephner? 🦙

Visits from Hephner the Alpaca are always a highlight at Goulburn. Stopping by and making a visit every 6 weeks, Hephner brings great joy to our residents who always love to say hello and give him a pat.

Dressed in his best, his recent visit to Warrigal Goulburn even made it on the news!

Our Mt Warrigal residents enjoyed some jewellery making fun! ✨

Putting their design skills to the test, everyone had a great afternoon choosing from a range of coloured beads, creating beautiful bracelets together. The results certainly didn’t disappoint and made great additions to our resident’s outfits!

16 of our student volunteers recently completed Wave 3 of the Know Me Dementia Program. 💜

Running at Hughes, Warrigal Stirling, Warrigal Calwell and Warrigal Queanbeyan, the volunteers who participate in this program are paired with a resident living with dementia, connecting with them through regular visits, reminiscence activities, and digital storytelling.

At the end of the 16-week program, the volunteers put together a video sharing the resident’s story, assisting our staff members in understanding these residents on a deeper level.

From offering companionship and comfort to exchanging stories with our residents, the impact of these volunteers is truly incredible, each forming a genuine relationship built on empathy and compassion.

Congratulations and thank you to each of the amazing student volunteers who have completed Wave 3 of the program. We look forward to beginning Wave 4 soon, continuing to make our older people feel known, loved, and connected. ⭐️

From expanding our services, growing our team, and most importantly, living out our vision of creating a world where older people feel known, loved, and connected, as we reflect on 2025, we’re extremely thankful for all the support, assisting us in helping 4,521 older people. 💜

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the new year as we continue to build the vibrant community at Warrigal! 🤩

Across our Community Villages, our residents participated in a Christmas decorating competition that was sure to spread the Christmas cheer. 🎄

From vibrant red bows lining the driveway to themed windows, solar-powered decorations, outdoor displays and festive greetings, our village residents came together and created fabulous displays that certainly didn’t disappoint. 🤩
