On Harmony Day, Stirling enjoyed happy hour with a twist, marking the occasion with an orange themed afternoon!

The colour orange is used for Harmony Day as it signifies meaningful conversations, freedom of ideas, and mutual respect. This themed afternoon was a great way for our residents to come together to celebrate multiculturalism within the home. 🍹

Our residents also celebrated this diversity with a recent multicultural event complete with cultural dances, traditional attire and food from various cultures. This was another wonderful opportunity to acknowledge, share and learn about the rich heritage of our staff and residents, adding to the special sense of community within the home. 🧡

Wearing their best green clothing, rocking some fantastic green accessories, and surrounded by festive decorations, our residents and staff at Bundanoon and Warrigal Mt Warrigal enjoyed some wonderful St Patrick’s Day celebrations!

Warrigal Bundanoon started off the day with some exciting rounds of bingo which is sure to never disappoint. The celebrations also consisted of an Irish themed menu including Guinness pie, calling for a delicious lunch enjoyed with excellent company! 💚

Over at Warrigal Mt Warrigal, our residents also enjoyed Guinness pie as well as Colcannon (Irish mashed potato) and chocolate cake made with Guinness and Baileys Irish Cream. Louie the Bop added to the celebrations singing some great Irish ditties and had everyone singing along to ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’, bringing lots of smiles! 🎶

Happy Harmony Day!

Today we celebrate Harmony Day, recognising the importance of diversity and inclusivity in our community. At , we are privileged to support older people from a diverse range of backgrounds, each bringing their own rich traditions and culture, shaping the wonderful Warrigal community. 🌏

Our Warrigal Albion Park Rail residents and staff celebrated Harmony Day with a fabulous multicultural event! The afternoon consisted of delicious food from various cultures, generously provided by staff, including Filipino and Indian favourites, as well as multicultural music and dance, adding to the cheerful event. 🧡

Residents and villagers from across Shell Cove, Warrigal Warilla, Warrigal Lake Illawarra and Warrigal Albion Park Rail have been participating in weekly tai chi classes guided by Doug.

This 12-week program combines low-impact movement and mindfulness, offering benefits to both physical and emotional wellbeing, including balance and relaxation. ✨

3 weeks in and our residents are loving these sessions, where they’ve been guided through practical exercises and breathing techniques, all whilst connecting with fellow residents!

Last week, Julianna, one of our beloved Multicultural Village residents, turned 100! 🥳

To celebrate this remarkable milestone, Julianna was surrounded by her family - that spans over 4 generations, including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, for a lovely afternoon.

Fellow residents and staff joined for the celebrations, adding to the memorable day and filling the home with joy and warmth. ✨

Known by staff to always have a big grin, and as ‘Nanna Sparkles’ by her family for the sparkly dresses she loves to wear, Julianna enjoys bus trips, bingo days and being able to speak her native tongue within the home, moving from Hungary to Australia in 1952.

Happy 100th birthday Julianna, we hope you enjoyed your special day! 💜

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜

As proud sponsors of International Women's Day - Illawarra, members from our Board and Executive team, along with staff from across Warrigal, attended the Illawarra Women’s Day luncheon on Friday, celebrating the inspiring women in our community.

During the event, Acting CEO, Suze Mandicos, had the honour of presenting this year’s Beryl Lewis Scholarship for Older Women to Lynelle Johnson. As the founder of Australia’s only electric marine engine manufacturer, Lynelle makes impactful change through her sustainable innovation and commitment to the community.

Established by UN Women Australia, this year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Balance the Scales’, emphasises the need for more inclusive communities where women have the freedom to shape their own lives and use their own voice, moving towards gender equality.

Today and every day, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of the women who live and work not only at Warrigal, but within the wider community. ⭐️
