A great turn out today for event #384 at Oakey parkrun with 66 participants in much cooler conditions than last week with visitors from Toowoomba and 13 first timers.

A bunch of pb’s were set today by Tom Fiechtner, Banjo Thompson, Finley Thompson, Jed Fiechtner, Hannah, Wolski, Aydem McKay, Ebony Panzram, Joshua Church, James Wolski, Callum Batterham, Amber Carlish and Nico Meyer. Well done all!!

Hi park runners and walkers

Looks like a nice morning for event #384 at Oakey parkrun tomorrow for a run, walk or jog. Its Australia Day long weekend so why not celebrate by coming dressed in your favourite Australian hero or costume! Ice blocks will be available after the event.

Let us know if you are visiting or celebrating a milestone. First timer brief begins at 6:50am followed by the full briefing and start at 7.00am.

🥵🔥 Oakey parkrun wrap-up! 🔥🥵

What a morning we had out there!

58 legends took on Oakey parkrun in some seriously hot, sweaty conditions ☀️💦
The sun was relentless, the course was warm, but the encouragement around the track was even stronger 🙌

There were smiles, grit, cheers, and plenty of “we earned this” moments — the vibes were unreal from start to finish. Huge kudos to everyone who got it done in that heat!

Set your alarm, lace up your shoes and come start your Saturday the best way possible — outdoors, moving, and surrounded by the Oakey parkrun community.

Oakey parkrun is a free, timed 5km where you can run, jog or walk at your own pace. No pressure, no expectations — just encouragement from start to finish.

New faces, familiar faces, milestones, comebacks, cruisy jogs and fast finishes… they all belong here. If it’s been a while, or if you’ve been meaning to come along, tomorrow’s a great day to do it.

Stick around for the chats and coffee afterwards — it’s all part of the experience ☕
