Building a service with heart, integrity, and genuine care takes years of hard work, sacrifice, and belief in what you are creating.

You invest time, trust, and resources into people and into the vision of what the service is meant to stand for.

You open doors, create opportunities, and work tirelessly to build relationships with participants, families, and a team who share the same purpose.
But along the way you also learn some hard truths.
Not everyone who walks beside you is there to build.

Some arrive when the foundations are already laid, when the relationships are strong, and when the work has already been done. And rather than contribute, they attempt to benefit from what others have created — rewriting stories, shifting narratives, and positioning themselves as something they were never part of building.

In our industry, we also know that professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and best practice standards matter.

Inducement, poaching, and the erosion of professional relationships have no place in services that are meant to protect and support vulnerable people.

Integrity is not a slogan. It is something that shows through actions over time.

For us, the focus remains exactly where it has always been — repairing and strengthening anything that others may have attempted to take or damage, protecting the relationships built through honesty, and ensuring strong business continuity for the people and families who trust us.

We are passionate about rebuilding where needed, restoring what matters, and continuing forward with the values that have always guided our work: family, genuine care, respect, truth, and ethical practice.

As we move ahead, we do so with clarity and confidence — leaving behind anything and anyone that does not align with our vision or our standards.
Because services built on integrity, transparency, and real commitment cannot be taken through shortcuts, stories, or opportunism.

The truth always finds its way to the surface, and foundations built with honesty will always stand the test of time.

Our Commitment to Professional and Ethical Standards.

At Personal Preference Disability Services Pty Ltd, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and respect in the disability sector.

All workers and providers entering this industry agree to uphold the expectations set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and operate in accordance with the NDIS Code of Conduct.
This includes:
• Respecting professional boundaries
• Protecting participant privacy and confidentiality
• Communicating truthfully and respectfully
• Maintaining ethical engagement practices with staff, participants and other providers
• Respecting existing professional relationships
• Ensuring leadership decisions are made with integrity and free from conflicts of interest.

Encouraging staff or participants to leave an existing provider, or offering inducements to influence decisions, can have a serious and damaging impact. Inducements may extend beyond the individual and include family members, friends, or others who hold influence over staff or participants.

These practices can disrupt continuity of care, create instability for participants, place pressure on workers and families, and undermine trust across the sector.

We also remind all involved in the sector of the importance of accurate and responsible communication, as misinformation or defamatory statements can cause significant harm to individuals and organisations.

Where concerns arise regarding conduct that does not align with these standards, they may be documented and referred through the appropriate professional and regulatory channels.

Our priority at Personal Preference Disability Services Pty Ltd will always remain the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of the people we support, while maintaining integrity and professionalism within our sector

• Professional boundaries and respectful communication
• Participant privacy and confidentiality
• Ethical conduct and integrity in all interactions

Reporting Concerns and Wrongdoing in the NDIS Sector.

All workers and providers in the NDIS sector have a responsibility to act in the best interests of participants and to maintain ethical, safe, and professional practice.
This includes reporting any observed wrongdoing or breaches of standards by staff, providers, or others involved in delivering supports.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission oversees the safety and quality of NDIS services.

Concerns that should be reported include, but are not limited to:
• Breaches of participant privacy or confidentiality
• Abuse, neglect, or exploitation of participants
• Unethical or unprofessional behaviour by workers or providers
• Conflicts of interest, fraud, or mismanagement of NDIS funds
• Actions that compromise participant safety, dignity, or wellbeing
Reports can be made directly to the Commission through their official reporting channels. All reports are taken seriously and investigated in accordance with NDIS rules and procedures.
Workers are protected when reporting in good faith. Making a report is not only a legal and ethical responsibility, but it also helps maintain trust, safety, and integrity across the NDIS sector.

The wellbeing of participants is always the highest priority, and taking action when standards are breached is an essential part of working responsibly in this sector.

Professional and Ethical Obligations in the NDIS Sector
All providers and workers who choose to operate within the National Disability Insurance Scheme agree to uphold the standards and safeguards established by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
These requirements are outlined within the NDIS Code of Conduct and apply to all NDIS providers and workers, whether registered or unregistered.
Under these obligations, workers and providers must:
• Act with respect for individual rights, dignity and autonomy
• Protect participant privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
• Provide supports honestly, safely and with integrity
• Take reasonable steps to prevent harm, exploitation, abuse or neglect
• Communicate truthfully and respectfully with participants, families, colleagues and other providers
These standards are in place to ensure the disability sector remains safe, ethical and focused on the wellbeing of participants.
Where conduct does not align with these obligations, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has the authority to investigate concerns and take regulatory action. This may include compliance notices, enforceable undertakings, civil penalties, or banning orders preventing individuals from working within the NDIS sector.
Maintaining these standards is a shared responsibility across the sector and is essential to protecting the rights and wellbeing of the people we support.
